a game involving cards, yes, fine, those are playable. a sidescroller, fine, yes, those are also playable.

*Shrugs* I thoroughly enjoyed the combat system in CoM once I'd got the hang of it. I admit the card scrolling system was a bit broken, but it was a pretty good game in its own right.

I thought you guys were talking about Circle Of the Moon for a minute. I was half-way into a hissy-fit... >_<

I didn't like it. Too much time spent finding the attack you wanted to do and/or piecing it together while the CPU auto-generates its move at the speed of the GBA's processor and beats you around for not being able to move as quickly. And, to me at least, the story seemed like an attempt to just redo Kingdom Hearts's plot but make it look new and fresh.

If they put Magus back, I might actually enjoy Chrono Cross. >.>

Quoted from several pages back, but I finally found the link I wanted.

Terra, for the longest time I was loath to even admit that Chrono Cross EXISTED. My hatred for that sorry, excremental excuse for a sequel knew no bounds. I refused to listen to even the suggestion that the two might be related.

About... six months ago or so, I found something that changed my mind. I know you write, so maybe you'll appreciate a nice piece of fan-work here. It merges Chrono Trigger into Chrono Cross and does it WELL. This is what the producers should have done originally. Chrono Trigger: Until the End of Time

no no no.

Lynch mobs are for one person pointing out a differing point of view.

you throw together a posse for two to five, and any more than that either a crusade or a jihad or whatever it is that your religion calls it

You obviously haven't seen Notty when he's angry. He's like some form of drugged up mutant ferret.

(Sorry Notty. I had to. It was just there.)

I never went so far as to refuse to accept the two were related. I just...deeply wish they weren't. But I'll read what you linked me to.

Is this *it*?

Sheesh, and here I thought I actually had to be worried about something.

Plus, most of what I didn't like about Chrono Cross was the lack of development for characters. Everyone was interchangable, and even had the exact same dialogue with different dialects for each scene. It felt like they were trying too hard to cram in as many characters as they could without bothering to really develop said characters into anything but random, two-dimensional figures. ~_~

I understood the plot just fine. Wish I hadn't, but I did. Course, I'm a Kain fan, we're good at weird and confusing plots.
