Same here. I wish upon the creators of that infernal-yet-vital machine a pain greater than a thousand... er... very painful thinggys.

Beat the Fable Main Game... Much excellence. The climactic final battles were AWSOME. The music was good, the alliance of heroes against the evil armies, the Final Battle... All very well done. Way, way too short though, there was more that could have been done with those final battles...

Now I'm FINALLY getting into the obvious expansion material, and so far I'm not dissapointed. Adds a new land, some new clothing pieces (Not many), new quests, new city, and the plot is excellent (It's obviously an Expansion plot (1 year later, something happens type deal), but it's a very good expansion plot.). The funny thing is, they actually intigrated the beginnings of this plot into the game well, but since I never played the original Fable I didn't know what to look for until I got here... Looking back, there were encounters and people you see/meet that I now realize were new additions...

Spoilers, both for people that did and didn't beat Fable for X-box: Only two complaints. First is they bring back the Jack of Blades as the main enemy of the expansion. Yes, I know, he was an awsome enemy the first time around, but bringing him back after his excellent defeat in the last game reeks of laziness... We get lots of hints of "A new threat that could wipe out the world", and the new Main Baddies so far are Summoners, which are like Ultra-Mega Undead with powerful magic and nasty swords that can rip through Platemail like it's nothing. Finding out that Jack of Blades is behind it just seemed dissapointing... I was hoping for a new Final Baddy that made Jack of Blades look weak in comparison...

The other dissapointment was getting the Good equivelent of the Sword of Aeons. At the end of Fable, the choice was obviously cast the Sword of Ages into the vortex (Good) or keep it (Evil). Evil characters keep it and have their ultimate weapon, but good characters get no equivelent. They fix that in the Expansion by letting you get Avo's Tear. How do you get it? You click on a tombstone. That's it. No mystic quest to forge the lost blade, or adventure to get clues to it's wherabouts. You click on one bookcase (And you are told where this bookcase is at the resolution of a Main Quest that you must take), you get detailed instructions on what to do to get it, then if you are a good character, you go get it and have it handed to you on a silver platter. It felt dissapointing somehow after all the stuff that needed to be done to get the Sword of Aeons...

Oh yeah, and the Sword of Aeons got nerfed. Before it was a 4 enhancement, 550 damage destroyer of worlds. Now it's a 3 enhancement (Health, Mana, Experience (Why do you need Experience for the Endgame? What the hell.)), 230 damage destroyer of large critters. It's still a really awsome sword, but compared to what it was it's a sad shadow of it's former self...

I like the addition of Aircraft Carriers and Stealth in AW:DS. Both of these were GLARINGLY obvious additions just as soon as you think of Advance Wars. Now, the only other units I could possibly want would be amphibious vehicles and aircraft.

And why is there as yet no building construction/destruction units? Too much like an RTS?
