We talk about other games all the frickin' time... and if you don't have another game to talk about don't complain... just ignore it...?

Finally finished all of Fable: The Lost Chapters.

Overall opinion of Fable now that it's over and there's nothing left to do (I don't have enough interest in doing it all again just to replay it Evil)? Excellent game... But it just needs MORE. Yeah, it's got all sorts of stuff to it, but once you've burned through it, you feel slightly unsatisfied... Once I had really finished it, and the "OMIGAWD AWSOME" had worn off, I really took the time to tool around the game and mess around with stuff, and started finally noticing some of the annoying bits.

The Final Battle of Lost Chapters was climactic, but pathetically easy, especially for being the Ultimate Destroyer of Worlds form (SPOILER: And you have to get rid of your Jack of Blades mask... Damnit, that was my favorite trophy... On the plus side, he talks to you after you discover he's still alive, and plays the Devil On Your Shoulder type, either telling you how to do evil, or mocking you all along the way when you try to do good). The "Final Battle" at the end of the core Fable game was much harder... Also you can burn through this new continent and the Main Quests in roughly 3-4 hours (2 hours if you do it the Evil way).

The romance system was weakly implemented... The fact that as a good hero, all you have to do is walk through a town for all the women to fall in love without having to do a single thing is boring, and the fact that 99% percent of them are just NPC#226 without any interesting traits hurts it overall. The only real unique/interesting potential wife is Lady Grey, but since she's Evil, Good heroes will most likely have to settle for an NPC. Damnit, I was hoping for a chance with Briar Rose... Good Guys just get no lovin'.

The Room of Fate was a HUGE dissapointment... When it was first described, I imagined it keeping track of all sorts of unique info, but now that I've completed it I realize it just spits out the same pictures at pre-set points in the game no matter what you do. And there's a picture missing! What's with that?! It really does make being Good/Evil kind of pointless, other then asthetics and minor story variations that all end up at the same place later no matter what.

I've got to say, personalization was one thing that didn't dissapoint. Between tattoos, weapons (And upgrades, to a certain points), clothes, hairstyles, battle scars, Good/Evil benafits, and the effects on your character as you put points in skills and age, you really will have a completely unique character by the end of the game. I really want to max out my Will tree so I can get the maximum effect of that Magic Tattoo thing you get over time, but grinding monsters gets tedious when you have the Ultimate Armor and Sword of Monster Crushing... Also, there needs to be an Epic sword with no augmentations in it. It felt cool to make my own Master Sword with my own little tweaks to it (Sharpening, Piercing, and... Lightning! Feel the wrath of Thunder Emperor Runemaster!), and I was dissapointed when you are then handed a sword that you have to use as-is, and are pretty gimped if you don't use it.

At the core of the game beats a solid, excellent game system, but when you start branching off and trying to do all the Extras the game provides, you start to notice all the rust and lack of polish... An excellent game, but it just feels incomplete. Here's to hoping for a Fable 2 with lots, lots more stuff!

I can only pray. That's why I'm glad I waited for the PC version, not the X-Box version... Much better Modding tools and community.

I've finished playing Ultimate Spider-Man, and I can honestly say I'm disappointed. The controls are sublimely simplified, which makes it all just a meaningless bit of button mashing. But the main disappointment?

I left work yesterday at 6.
I got home with the game at 7.
I finished the game at 12.

Which version?

I'm planning on the DS, because I love the machine, and I'd probably get strange looks playing Nintendogs on campus...

It is freeroaming and beautifully cel-shaded, right?

Beautifully cel-shaded, yes. The free-roaming aspect gets tired and old. It's a tiny fraction of what Spider-Man 2 had, you're stuck in one little corner of the city, with invisible walls keeping you out of the rest of it. The actual roaming part gets boring and old fast, because of the deeply simplified webswinging controls. You can webzip and you can swing, but only with one webbing strand, none of the complex Spider-Man 2 maneuvers.

It's basically Spider-Man 2 Lite.

You play as Venom briefly between chapters of Spider-Man. In which you either play follow-the-leader, or you bash around a bunch of people. His combat controls are actually worse than Spidey's and he's a big, slow target. It's a crime against the character, in my honest opinion. It is too easy to kick Venom's arse.

Damn. Guess I'll restart Spider-man 2 to get my superhero kick.

Anyone like the new Hulk game? I've heard good things about it, but would like more opinions.

Bashing stuff is AWESOME.
