I refuse to acknowledge that geekish magician as Magus, in any way, shape, or form. That...THING...is not my Magus. |

I didn't finish it either. I got up to the final dungeon but the plot was just so... dumb at that point I lost all interest. Also the battle system sucked. And as for Magus being Guile... only Serge, Kidd, and Glenn seemed to have any serious back story. I don't see how you could say Guile was or wasn't Magus... |

He could have been an alternate version of him? Your personality and strengths are based on your experience. In an alternate universe, your experience would be different. Hence. Guile is the alternate of Magil. Magil is Magus (see Radical Dreamers?). I haven't played the games, but that's what I've gathered. |

Except that the only thing that changed between the two worlds is whether Serge lived or died. That was the only thing alternate about it. So Magus, who in no way had anything to do whatsoever with Serge ever, would be exactly the same in both. |

yeah, you can't possibly say that every change between them is because of Serge. the dragons were killed before he died, for example. |

Now that I'm tired enough to laugh at my bad day... On the plus side, I got a PS2 Demo Disc with a bunch of good demos on it. Indigo Prophecy: Awsome. If you like adventure games, get this. Now. Even the short demo is just incredible... Sly 3: Now, after Sly 1, I thought Sly 2 and the fact that you could play as all three characters was going to suck. However, after playing this, I realised it is actually a system that can be theoretically awsome. In one battle, your two allies distract a boss while you as Sly land the damaging blows on him. And you get to play a Dogfight with planes that's a lot of fun, if suitably difficult. The fact that it's no longer "One hit, one kill" is both a blessing and a curse, a curse in that it makes the game feel not as good as the original, a blessing because apparently they upped the difficulty due to this. Where as Sly 1 was ridiculously easy, Sly 3 is actually pretty hard. Soul Caliber 3: Looks and plays awsome as hell. I was skeptical about this game, but DAMN was the demo fun... Recommened if you like the series. Starship Troopers (PC): If you really, really liked the movie, the game is a decent transition. If you thought the movie was meh, pass, there's a lot of better FPSes out there. F.E.A.R.(PC): I know I mentioned this one, but damn. The demo is amazing. Playing it over and over is just as fun as playing it once, because the AI is amazing... This is going to be a Must Buy once I get the cash together. If you like FPSes and Horror, you owe it to yourself to get this game. One of the only truely scary games I've ever played, and only barely below Half-Life 2 in awsomeness (And that's just from the demo!)... |

I played Sly 3 and it's a pretty good game. It plays a lot like Sly 2, but they added a sprint button to get around easier and the mission types are more varied. One of the things that they changed for the worst is the bosses. About half of them have a backstory like the previous games, but they balance this by giving each of the group members more backstory. |

You know, I might just make that CT-continuation flash series with no relevance to CC... And I was the one who found the fanfic originally (the one where it describes Guardia's fall, right?). Guess Knight reposted it here. |

I can't see how you can play the demo for hours. Then again, CAC mode is very limited, and that's basically my favorite feature 'bout it. |

Why does everyone think the plot of Chrono Cross sucked? Yes, it didn't have the same cast of the last game, yes, they could have had a smaller, much more developed cast, but I thought the plot was unexpectedly cool. Chrono Trigger, while amazing, was your standard RPG plot (lets go save the world from teh evil!). In Chrono Cross, the shit hits the fan once you realize your actions had consequences (who didn't shed a tear when they entered the frozen future?). Was it really just because you guys expected and wanted more of the same? |

Drek, it'll take a month just to talk to the NPCs... As for CC, what I've seen in action was decent but the tie-ins with CT weren't really necessary and also poorly done (could be the reason Square never does direct sequels). Because of that I've been brainstorming making a series that doesn't lead into CC. No idea if I'll actually follow through with it yet though. |

The plot was just bad. Less steriotypical doesn't mean GOOD. I would have accepted different, I just don't accept BAD. And the battle system SUCKED. |
