But it came from the circus freaks who bite heads off of chickens! Calling yourself a geek is like a black man calling himself a nigger. Sure, they still do it, but many consider it demeaning to blacks as a whole.

It started being used when (I believe) a "professional wrestler" kept calling the audience "pencil-necked-geeks"

It's a reasonably obvious/(common?) name for a cat...

Ah. Well I've only heard it (as a name for a cat specifically) in DDS2 and CSNES.

Okay that's a HORRIBLE comparison.... most geeks call themselves geeks and not many consider it demeanig. Not only that, but it didn;t start out as an insult, it was a term for a performance artist, then morphed into an insult.

So in short, I'm a geek, and damn proud of it.

I think nerd is generally considered to be the demeaning term...

I'm not a huge geek, but I'm proud of the geekyness I have. :P

edit: in more than just name, eh Jon? :P

It was a term for a specific type of performance artist: "A carnival performer whose show consists of bizarre acts, such as biting the head off a live chicken."

It started out as something someone wouldn't want to be, then morphed into an insult, and now has turned into something of a slang description.

Nerd started off implying someone who was "square". Both geekery and nerdiness imply lack of social skills. However, in my experience, nerd implies someone smart as well.

I'm not a geek. But I'm proud to be a nerd.

Waluigi and Dry Bones confirmed for Mario Kart DS apparently.

Waluigi I get, but Dry Bones? Why not just a Koopa Troopa?

...does that mean that we'll be transformed into funky animals during the lion king world?

...I don't like that.

Hyenas, for one.... They're not precisely dogs, but they're the most dog-like in the Pridelands.

Oh, yeah. The lions will love having a hyena following a kid lion around.
