Doesn't look any more resource demanding than WoW.

No? The graphics look a lot shinier, I dunno... I've also got a very non-standard Graphics Card that tends to not place nice with a lot of games. Damn E-machines...

Meh, I can give it a shot.

Okay, I was unfair and wrong about Rakion... It definitly needs some work (Hit detection is pretty wacky) but it's surprsingly fun. It reminds me of Dynasty Warriors in a way, except it doesn't quite plays as smoothly or well (Swordsman have a problem keeping enemies in range. They tend to knock them away, and then aren't able to change direction while attacking to keep hitting them).

However, it IS a good bit of fun. It's even got a Summoning type system so theoretically you could solo some of these missions (If I could figure out how to get it to work...).

An update on SO:TTEOT:

So far I'm at *spoilers* The part right after rescuing Ameena. I've saved right before setting off for Aquios */spoilers* and still haven't had much to complain about. No MP deaths yet whatsoever, though I'm not sure if I'm just lucky... :)

I'll have to download that game definitely, then. ^_^

And nah, I didn't have much problem with MP death until well after that, Shadow. When you get to Robin Wind, that's the first and, for a long time, only boss that's really a problem with it for a while...

What's "Gunz"?

Alright, first BIG annoyance... There are two real modes, Mission and Battle. Both can be played Multiplayer. Now I looked at mission and thought "Joy, a way to get some XP and cash on my own.

Not so.

When you play a mission, you aren't playing against the monsters, you're playing against the clock. The faster you beat the mission, the more XP and Gold you get. However, if you DON'T beat your previous record, you don't get any more XP or Gold, and even if you do beat it, you only get an increase in XP and GP proportional to your new level. Example:

Basic mission: Defeat it and you get I think 30 XP and 30 GP.
Beat it and get a C, and you get a 1.5x bonus. You actually gain 45 of both.
However, if you later go back and beat it on C, you don't get any XP.
Plus, if you go back and beat it on B, you only get XP and Gold compared to last time. I don't remember the percentage, but beating it on B only got me 10 XP and 15 gold...

As such, Battle against other people is the only real way to get XP it appears...

Take the Battle mode. Give the characters guns. Allow them to upgrade the guns. And you've got Gunz. In a nutshell.

Fair enough. Google should tell you, but I warn you its an ultimately shallow experience. Its fun for a while, but there isn't enough variation.

*Looking over the site*

Hmm... Looks interesting. Far more so then Raikon. I still want to give ti a shot...

EDIT: So, as SOON as I discover the site and want to do something, it stops working... Just my luck...

So, as some of you may recall from the trailer, MGS4 takes place in a wartorn urban environment, possibly in Africa or the Middle East.

I personally cannot wait to hear Kojima's characters give us awkwardly-worded summaries of the histories.

Though, maybe it's Zanzibar land...

Sorry. Reading The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of the World Order. That area of the world is on my mind.

I still enjoyed the awkwardly-worded weapons analysis of the cardboard box, in the first game.

I think Snake's discussion about The Box with the weapon designer in MGS3 is by far the best.

"I feel so safe in the box... At peace... Like it was my destiny to be in the box. Do you understand?"
"Man, I don't WANT to understand!"

EDIT: Also, Gunz seems to be down... Perfect timing, as usual...

Nonono... comedic gold is the awkward history lessons.

"And to top it off, there's severl tons of MUF every year."
"MUF?"
"It stands for material unaccounted for."
"That's terrible."
"And that's not the worst part..."

MFD: I refuse to believe Snake cares that much about nuclear waste.

Oh! And I hope we get more background on some of our favorite characters!

MERYL: Where did you learn so much about dogs?
SNAKE: I'm a musher.

"Frank was the only family I had..."
"Tryin' to deactivate Metal Gear here... kinda more important..."

"I am lung-shot. I do not have much time."

(Half an hour later, Snake shoots Wolf. Not because she wanted him to, but because she wouldn't SHUT UP! Lung shot! Dammit, Kojima!)

Rakion: 1
Gunz: 0

Damnit, Gunz hasn't been working all day. Not only that, but the video I saw of it just looks like a much nicer version of The Specialists, a Half Life mod. I'm still interested, but interest is now fading...

Not only that, but I finally bit the bullet and got around to playing some Rakion in a Battle match... And actually had a lot of fun. Even at level 1, I was able to take down people a few levels higher then me. Plus, as you get beat up, chunks of armor fly off so you can actually see how damaged someone is/is getting as you fight. And in roughly 30 minutes, I was able to get halfway to a new weapon upgrade, and I got a level and a half... It'll take a while to get a new suit of armor, but at least it moves light years faster then Gunbound ever did...

Your Gunbound account works for Rakion. I know, I've tried it...

EDIT: And after FINALLY getting Gunz to work last night, it's arguably better then Rakion... If the servers actually stayed online!
