Um no? They beat Zeal directly. Problem is, Lavos showed up and killed everyone. They couldn't stop Lavos from killing those people. They wern't responsible for his appearance either. They had no involvement in the destruction of the land of magic. Edit: OMG! Lucca even shares my opinion. Lucca. She suggests they gather more information from the past before fighting Lavos, remember? |

So, would you have preferred for AVALANCHE to let Shinra just go ahead and wait for Sephiroth to drop the meteor on them to stop them? |

If you're talking to me, I've never played FFVII... and my response to you was, I think, confused in the massive tangle of conversation topics in this thread... |

Again. False analogy. Chrono and friends were using time travel. They could afford to let those people die because they were going to end up rewriting time anyways. And Chrono DID try to stop Lavos(getting himself killed). He just didn't go about it the same way. |

In the case of Ozzie: When Magus summons Lavos, Ozzie still has control. This is shown as Ozzie's decendant is the elder of the village of Mystics (Medina, I believe.) When you defeat Magus, Ozzie's decendant is still the leader, only slight changes were made. When you whupped Ozzie in the sidequest at The Fated Hour, Ozzie loses his hold on the Mystics. |

I like a nice, romantic plotline in the game, but I don't like it to be with the Aeris/Yuna/Rosa/Rydia character. Those characters are boring. Part of why I enjoyed Jade Empire so much is that you can choose your romantic subplot. You can choose who the hero falls in love with. >.> Another part of why I enjoyed that was the sexuality openness of the game. My female character was allowed to choose from more than just the male romantic interest. Same goes for male characters, they can choose the male if they want. |

Well, when you have a time machine, a genious, and you're practicly ona first name basis with the rulers of every major civilization is existence, that works. When you're a five man commando squad and operate out of a bar in the biggest slums in the world, it doesn't work so well. |

It was fated to happen either way. Plus by fighting them the future got better while the past stayed the same. And Tidus just reminded me of the male asses in high school. I really hated how he was always stretching and taking up space. |

Tidus was an athlete. That's actually why I enjoyed him so much. He wasn't a trained soldier or a renowned bandit or a specially-trained mercenary for hire. He was just some poor fool that got caught up in something totally beyond him. |

He wasn't just an athelte. He was a famed star Athelete who everybody loved. The only thing I even remotley enjoyed about his character was when we foudn out what he really was. |

Well, all I can say is that at least this time the debate remained intelligent and nobodies temper went through the roof over an rpg. |
