I dunno. Lack of decency/common courtesy? Demonic possession? The list goes on. |

A demon with the strangest desire to gross everybody out. Truly bizarre. It was about a year that he first showed up, if I recall. |

You are telling me that writing bad musical numbers for Gilbert and Sullivan was how this Hec guy I am always hearing about started? I repent! I repent! *begins a process of fasting, self-flagellation, and incoherent muttering* |

During my absence I have been going through dragon quest VIII its a good game so far, with the only complaint being that the amount of gold monsters drop vs the amount weapons/armor are is completely off kilter the most i have seen a monster drop is 106 and the weapons I just bought were in the low range of 2600 per character Edit : I did both the full demos of FF 12 on wait and active, I have decided that it plays like a very bad MMORPG. |

Dragon Warrior has almost always had that problem. Still, personally I miss the old days when everybody on a DW game spoke in horrible Old English. |

I was never really good at Warcraft 3, mostly becasue I can't micromange properly. It really is an amazing game. The UMS maps for it are absolutely amazing. I spent days playing tower defenses and RPGs. My biggest complaint with the game was the lack of naval combat. The Diablo games are the best point and click hack and slashers. Period. Granted theres no making maps for them but since the dungeons are randomized every time (not the quests sadly, just the dungeon layout- except for bosses) it has fairly decent replay value. I may not have completely liked the implementation of any of these games, but at least I could enjoy the games. FFX, I couldn't stand some of the characters, the main character primarially. FFX-2 was a travesty that should never have existed, I played for a little over 2 hours and not only did I consider every minuet of it asinie, I telt like a chore attempting to play the game. FFTA, the turtorial played like shit, and from what I've heard about the 'rules' system it would've probably been too much of a hassle to play. Their "remakes" are shitty ports with new cinematics-at best. If you get into the enix side of squeenix... SO3 probably would've been a good game if the item creation system wasn't so godamn awful. I've played radiata stories. Appearantly the game gets decent after you become the party leader 5 or so hours in, I never got past 3 hours in. My firend whos copy it was wanted to start over, he asked me how far in I was, and since I wasn't as far in as the point where you control the party he decided to give up on the game. I'll admit the tiral version WoW is shit compared to actually playing the game. What you don't seem to understand is that overall the PvE in the game is absoloutely amazing. A friend of mine rotates through DAoC, FF11, and WoW, his complaint of WoW was "The PvE is amazing, but I don't want to grind for hundreds of hours getting gear and having no decent PvP to use it in." I'll be the first one to admit Blizz should've waited at least another 6 months to get the game out, if not another year entirely. Yes the game still has issues, but they are getting better. Most the people bitching about not enough end game content play it a ridiculous amount. Personally, I probably should've roll;ed on a PvE or RP server when the game came out, but I like my character, and I ike some of the people on the server, so I'll keep playing on a PvP server because I ahve things keeping me there. But I'm not going to play on it exclusively or anything. Personally I find I can lose whole days in the game doing regular PvE, instanced PvE, or BG PvP. Of course there are people that didn't like these blizzard games, just like there are people that did like those square games. At least the SRPG genre has gotten better in the last few years, even if the Turn Based strategy genre has gone to shit. |

Finished From Russia With Love. Since the finale of the movie wouldn't make a good final boss (Old Ruskie broad with a blade coming out of her shoe), they added a mission where Bond has to infiltrate Octopus (SPECTRE) Island and stop them from launching a missile at London. Fairly straightforward level. While the lair was a locale unique to the video game, it certainly LOOKS like a SPECTRE lair. I just can't describe it. It BELONGS in a 60s Bond game/movie. You go in, disable the nuclear warhead, plant a bomb on the fuel supply to blow up the base, and escape. On the way out, you are confronted by the final boss... ... RED FUCKING GRANT. I shot him with my magnum and my PP7, I sprayed him with my assault rifle and my submachine gun, I sniped him and fired bazooka rockets at him. It was a fucking INTENSE battle, and I'm sure you've heard me complain about it in previous pages. Now he's inside a giant macine with rotating turrets: one shoots lasers, another bullets, and another shoots out grenades in shotgun formation. Disappointingly easy. The cover is reinforced steel, or something, so I can survive easily. If you ignore the fact that you can target and fire at the turrets, you have a straightforward boss fight, where you unload all your weaponry at the cockpit. But Mike, surely you have to worry about ammo, right? Nope. There's a crate from which you can replenish your SMG ammo. Entirely TOO EASY. A fun game, though. I still reommend it. I have two more hidden levels to unlock. See, in each mission, you are eligible for four awards: disable more badguys than this number right here, beat he level under this time, complete the Bond Moment, and complete the level on 00-Agent difficulty. You don't have to do all four at once, and you can only earn each award once. Basically, earn enough awards and you unlock four hidden levels. It's something to do, I guess. |
