It's one screenshot. Ain't it a bit early to be saying that it's corrupted him?

EVEN MORE FFIV Advance stuff.

Finally rounded up all the Lunarian Moon weapons and gear, and got ready to fight Zeromus. Still haven't managed to beat Bahamut, but I figured I'd manage without him. And I did, but barely. Cecil was the only one alive at the end of the fight, with about 100 hp left after the twenty-billionth Big Bang...

So, I watch the ending and credits, and the game throws a nice little curve my way. There's yet another optional dungeron, called the Lunar Trials. It's a 50-floor, randomized dungeon, with a break every couple of levels. Although not really, because at each break point, there's a "Trial" for each of the characters you used to defeat Zeromus. So, that means one for Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Kain, and Edge to start with.

Cecil's was pretty interesting. You actually had to THINK like a Paladin to proceed. First room had you retrieve a rare Status up item, and return it to a person. Second room, you save a drowning kid. Third, you have to NOT take a Megalixer that some guy puts on his wife's grave, and in the last one, you have to wait out a fight against a goblin-who's-not-really-a-goblin. At the end, you find a recolored-Odin, who gives you Cecil's ultimate weapon, the Lightbringer....

...Then proceeds to kick my ass, Zantetsuken-style. 9999 damage to the whole party anyone? Sheesh.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to do some training. Looking forward to the other characters trials, though I'm very scared at the prospect of having to fight Zeromus with Edward in the party....

Darth, I don't see what's wrong with Unca Scrouge. In fact, I'm just mad stoked that he's in the game.

I wonder how many kids actually did it wrong to see what happens.

...what DOES happen if you do it wrong, anyway?

And who'd want Scrooge McDuck dead?

Fezziwig. And Tiny Tim.

Not to mention Glomgold, Morgana Le Fowl, and others...

And you people need to ignore DT. He's just ragging on the game in general. He thinks Scrooge is corrupted because he's in the game. I say you ignore him, and he'll go away.

And Notty... did you try the Wall strategy on the Zantetsuken thingy? It works on Bahamut's MegaFlare...

Fezziwig (or Fozziwig, if you're a fan of the Muppet version) was Scrooge's nephew in Christmas Carol...

As I don't have a "Wall" spell, I'm going to assume that you're talking about the renamed Shell/Protect.

Yeah, I've used that, and I was able to beat Bahamut. Which was nice.

But Lunar Odin's a bit tougher, he uses Zant. before you even get a chance to ISSUE A COMMAND.

EDIT to Pinku: If you mess up on ANY of the characters trials, you don't get the ultimate weapon/accessory for that character at the end.

Holy shit, that is fucking awesome.
There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. So no you get some text of me bitching about it, yaaay! Also, go vote.

Happy BDAY

DAMN It thats what I get for reading two threads at the same time
Malia Weinhagen talking about her father Dave Arneson

"The biggest thing about my dad's world is he wanted people to have fun in life," Weinhagen said. "I think we get distracted by the everyday things you have to do in life and we forget to enjoy life and have fun.

"But my dad never did," she said. "He just wanted people to have fun."

FFIV Adv. stuff, you get the drill.

Beat Zeromus with Cecil, Yang, Cid, Porom, and Edward (he just hid the entire time) to unlock the final Lunar Trials.

So far, I've managed to beat Rydia's and Yang's. Rydia's is pretty straightfoward. You enter a cave filled with mist, and Rydia loses her four elemental summons, and you have to get them back by defeating them. The catch? Rydia's transformed back into a little girl. This is annoying, because her HP nosedives and all you get in return is weak white magic spells like Cure, Hold, and Sight. At the end is an fun (but difficult) fight with the Lunar Mist Dragon. Annoying fight because, in addition to going invulnerable like the original Mist Dragon WAY back in the beginning of the game, it has a 9999 self-heal and is a staus-whore, slamming the party with Poison, Sleep, and anything you can think of. Even worse, the statuses go AROUND RIBBONS, so there's nothing you can do to prevent it. After you finally beat it, Rydia turns back to normal and recieves the Mist Ring. Super cool item, it decreases summoning time, and UBERFY's the Mist Dragon summon, as it'll now do damage equal to Rydia's total HP AND casts Blink on the whole party.

Yang's trial was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. For the love of god, if you ever attempt Yang's Lunar Trial, BRING RYDIA OR PALOM, if you don't you'll regret it for THE REST OF YOUR DAYS. Yang's is even more straightforward than Ry's. What is it, you ask?

240 consecutive enemies.

Yes, you read that correctly. It's a grueling endurance gauntlet, and with no AoE spells, it took for FREAKING EVER! Fortunately, Lunar Titan, like EVERY Earth-based enemy in the history of Final Fantasy, is a pushover as long as you have the Float spell. At the end, Yang gets the Discipline Armlet, which changes his "Power" command into "Deadly", where he gets triple attack strength, instead of double.

More to come, as soon as I stop getting my ass kicked by Lunar Summons....

No AoE spells?

But... but... that's not right. You could switch spells to target groups in FFII...

That's not changed, is it?

I didn't have AoE because I didn't have anyone who could CAST Black Magic, was my point.

My party for his trial was Cecil, Yang, Cid, Porom, and Edward....
