Donkey Kong... probably qualifies under a retcon. Mario wasn't even Mario in it, he was Jumpman. And he was a Carpenter. |

Yes, I would appreciate hearing what everyone complains about with the Megaman/X timeline. I've heard so much complaining about it but never heard why. Wasn't Mario also a construction worker in Donkey Kong, not a plumber? >.> I choose not to get started on Stan the Bug Man. |

Uhm.... why are we arguing about this? Not only is it extremely silly, but pointless. I mean, let people interpret their history they way they want... |

Because we're not arguing, we're *discussing* Big difference there. The X timeline is wonky because they just NEVER EXPLAIN in detail what happened to Megaman Classic and co. Towards the end, in X6, Zero is sealed away...only to be back in X7 WITH NO EXPLANATION AT ALL. |

I'm pretty sure Donkey Kong's from the Mushroom World too, though. Considering DKC, I don't think all that stuff on his home island is on OUR world. I always assumed MegaMan Classic and his folks were killed during the Maverick Wars. Not everyone gets a huge, climactic, world-shattering finale. |

Ok, lets start simple. What exactly happens to Megaman/X's weapons and armor after every game? What about Zero's "death" in X1? The Multipath storyline about Zero in X2? I mean, Zero does or can die in almost every X game. How about Megaman being a housecleaning robot and a human in a powersuit at the same time? His relation to Roll and the robot masters? The sheer idea of Wily being able to betray Light twice, and how the government never got involved? How about Zero's costume change in the Zero series. Yes, I know there is a canon explanation, but its utter bs. What about Protoman and "Breakman"? How about the gameboy games, with their aliens and stuff, or the Xtreme games, or or or.... Blech, too much junk |

All I know about the Classic is that Wily was close to finishing Zero in Power Battles. Whether Zero was activated in 20XX or not remains to be seen. Megaman and Bass could've had a climactic battle that ended in a sea of flames and destruction, which would be why Light would need to run tests on X. Speaking of Zero, he was supposed to die in MMX5 and that'd be it. 100 years later, Ciel finds him and reactivates him. Then with X6, he comes back with no explanation at all. Considering he'd lost his entire bottom half, who rebuilt him? The ending of X6, however, could've happened at any time. It doesn't have to be exactly after finishing Gate and Sigma. I just hope they get it on track for X9. Sigma's now officially dead and gone, and it looks like Axl could be next. Maybe they'll finally resolve the Zero thing in a couple of games. |

Mavericks didn't exist until Cain popped open X's capsule and built them himself, and by that time Megaman and company had already bit the bullet. We could just go by the Bob and George theory and say there was a Cataclysmic event... edit:
You mean like in X1, and 2, and 3? |

The way I look at it with the Megaman/X is this: It's Capcom. |

There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. Wasn't Sigma dead and gone at the end of every MegaMan X game? ...which, I suppose, is a good plot hole in and of itself. Okay, yes, I see your point. >.> This is why I like MegaMan Zero. |

The end of X8 implies that Sigma's really gone this time. If Command Mission is set after X8 (though it could be in between X7 and X8) where Sigma doesn't appear, it's safe to assume he's gone. In X2 he was rebuilt by the X Hunters, X3 he was rebuilt by Doppler, X4 and X5 I'm not sure about, X6 by Gate (although unfinished and with a one-track mind) and X7 and X8 I'm not sure. I think it's something to do with him merging with Zero's virus. I read that Lumine (the last boss of X8) said something about how the reploids with Axl's ability can't be affected by Sigma, but also have the ability to go maverick when they want. |
