If USB controllers are so acessable to everyone and whatnot why the hell don't any online RPGs support them, to you know possibly get atleast one console player to play them.

Likely because MMORPGs involve many more buttons than would be available on a USB gamepad...

Its quite possible, however, currently the User Interfaces of pretty much any MMORPG makes them totally inaccesible. I mean, the biggest things about them is having lots of room to manouver, and could you imagine scrolling through 20-30 skills trying to find a specific one on a joypad? Thrown in with your inability to pause, then you don't really have a great opening for consoles.

Wasn't there a FFXI for the PS2?

I have no idea how it worked, tho'.

It would be their fault for making the stuff so complex.

I hear nothing but bad about FFXI.

The thing is Ryu this sort of thing almost HAS to be complex. You're paying monthly for it which means you'll want something a little more in depth than a few hours worth of game. Its the nature of the beast. Unless theres LOTS to do, fewer people will play it.

I have my problems with the monthy fees to begin with don't get me into that.
My problem is that its not even a choice, I will take the penelty of not being able to hotkey through 50 moves just to be able to play confortably, I quit playing morrowind after about a week because my hands hurt to much after playing it for half an hour

WoW can be played entirely with the mouse.

Not too terribly well, but it can. It's easier if you use the arrow keys or WASD to move, but you CAN, theoretically, just use a mouse.

I'm pretty sure I'm of a like mind as you when it comes to monthly fees...

Anyway, Its kinda par for the course with MMORPGs. You need these hotkeys so you can respond quickly and efficiently to situations. There isn't much point fumbling through menu's as your tank is beaten to death by a pack of goblins. You need to have some form of reaction time.

On the flipside of the coin, there are a few less.... involving MMORPG's out there, but for that very reason they aren't as popular. Something like Maple Story, etc (I'll let the others fill some more in. Most of these are as boring as hell.) doesn't need as much involvement (Its also free. Make of that what you will.), but for that very reason it probably won't make it to consoles (Who'd produce something that few people will play?).

I don't generaly equate complexity with depth, Makai Kingdom was complex but it didn't feel deep to me, In reality all I really want is something I can play , and have a little fun with that isn't going to cause me alot of literal pain.

Who mentioned depth...? I'm not even sure what you're referring to. Are you talking about plot...?

I think you're confusing complexity with turn-based vs real-time. If the reaction time required for morrowind made your hands cramp up (or something), then... stick with turn based.

MMORPGs (most of them, anyway) aren't turn based because that's how the genre tends to work. Morrowind sort of imitated an MMOG in its system...

Having to do it quickly is the problem that does cause cramps, depth would be entertainment and actually caring about what I do as opposed to going around and randomly killing stuff.

That a plot problem, which gameplay has absolutely nothing to do with. It's also got a lot to do with taste...

I don't generally care for real-time either, because I can't decide what I want to do that quickly, or control my units properly in the case on an RTS.

anyways, I am currently playing pokemon leafgreen, and yugioh GX back and forth, GX seems to get really repetative at times I wish they had more duelists around to go against, or maybe some plot points from the show.

I try to avoid other people when I play yugioh, I just perfer to go against the anime duelists and not have to deal with "OMG you use red eyes and blue eyes you noob." It makes it less fun than beating syrus

It's not the cards it's how you use em.

Something my friend never gets even though I beat him with the same deck all the time and he constantly changes his.

Oh I know that, I used to have Yugioh online and I got beyond fed up with the condesending crap because I LIKE to use Red eyes black dragon and blue eyes white dragon, and maybe I perfer to lose my terms than win on theirs.

Makai Kingdom had a very deep combat system and leveling system. The plot was shallow... but the gameplay was solid. As for morrowind being too fast paced I'm confused... you can pause the game to change weapon/spell/ drink as many potions as you like... etc... The ability to exploit the pausing system in that game makes it trivial. Actually you can exploit your way to the point where most mobs are pitifully easy to beat.

As for monthly fees... well I'll probably dissapear from WoW most of the time when Oblivion and HOMM5 come out. End game requires too much time commitment to be strong. One of my friends juggles DAoC, FFXI and WoW successfully. He pays for 1 or 2 at a time and bounces back and forth between them. Ill probably have an active/inactive WoW account like that eventually.
