Halo 2 was *fun*. I hate FPS games, but even I loved Halo 2.

I love watching my dad play FPSs...

Actually, I loved Return to Castle Wolfenstein's ending

SPOILERS:

At the end, Our Hero(tm) takes a "vacation" by killing more Nazis :P

I think the only FPS that gets my attention is probably the two Metroid Prime games, and those don't even really count. They're more like First-Person Adventures.

I liked Goldeneye. I liked Goldeneye's maligned lesbian sister, Perfect Dark. I enjoyed Metroid Prime, and I like Geist.

That's about it for FPSes.

Geist counts? Okay, count me in on that one too.

Goldeneye was pretty good. From Russia With Love was incredible.

Well, you're in the first person, and there is alot of shooting involved. I'd count it with Metroid Prime as a FPA.

And FRWL isn't in the first person... granted, EA finally found a format that works for Bond, but it doesn't count.

Doom 3.... a true sequel? Are you mad? Have you even played its predecessors?

I played The SNES Doom and the PSX ultimate doom, and I feel that Doom 3 keeps the same sort of really creepy sense, besides the comlinks really add to the mood.

Now the only question that I have is "Which of you guys would be willing to be pmed cut the list of e-mails I got from the comic thread, to get premission for other characters in the fighting game I had in mind, of duplicate addresses without abusing their purpose and to accept any hidden characters as in not immediately playable that they sumbit of their creations?".

Sorry, I won't accept your help if your only e-mail address is an Yahoo address since that is what mine is so I know that it is too easy for somebody with an similiar address to yours to recieve an e-mail sent to you without having to have the to section misentered.

Because 2 characters can't enter the tournament for the same reason, I will have all that would be willing to have immediately playable characters in the game to reply to all that are willing to sumbit characters to the threads as well as me so the characters can be organized unless somebody has a better idea want to do.

Dude, doom 1 and doom 2 was the shizznites! 3 and that f-ed up movie are nothing like them. The first two dooms were scary, gory, (Especially for their time) And one some of the greatest multiplayer features. Its where I get my sense of respawn or no respawn. It had the greatest gory weapon too. What was it called the something 3000.

Doom 1/2 were kinda creepy in parts, but most of the scare factor for me came from seeing a cyber demon for the first time and saying "OH SHIT WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING." In this one I don't even want to know what half the crap people are fighting is.

I consider the Doom movie Final Fantasy : the spirits within 2. Nothing to do with the games at all beyond the name.

You are missing out. Quake 2 had great single player, great multiplayer, great fan community, great mods... pretty much everything about it was great.

Can you think of any games where the only way for even its best players to beat it is by cheating?

Has anyone here ever heard of "IAQs"? They stand for Infrequently Asked Questions, and are basically a FAQ for a game that doesn't exist, which means they're basically a game tech doc. in FAQ form.

Anywho, I'm writing one, and since it's been so long, I was wondering how to organize it.

I know this much: the game is a fighting game-rpg hybrid. The map system is akin to a lot of PS1 RPGs(sprites on a 3d isometric board), and the fighting system is a lot like the Guilty Gear system.

I have most of the actual mechanics written down(move lists, how levelling progression works, how the party system would work in a fighting game), and the story, but I'm not sure what would and wouldn't work.

If you guys are curious, I can post what little I have online for y'all, and then with your feedback start to fix it into something worthwhile. Just post and say something along the lines of "RPG/Fighter? That's ludicrous! That's an accident waiting to happen! YOU'RE MAD, I SAY, MAD!" and I'll get back to you. :D

O.O I've been looking for SO FREAKING LONG for a game like that! I've always wanted to put together fighting games and RPG's.

Do you have finishing move sequences on boss fights?

I'd love to see a game like that too. Those are my two favorite genres, after all. Though my preference leans toward fighters, since I seem to get more replay value out of them...
