Rezing a dead topic. :P

Those of you who dislike repetitive platform jumping but also like The Matrix if only a bit, I suggest to you to atleast rent The Path of Neo.

It seems real good with a broad veriaty of moves and neat finishers along with following closly to the movie but with some veriaty in paths and the ending as stated long ago in this very thread.

But you guys don't need to take my word for it.

I have been meaning to rent that myself. I don't care if its good or bad or is painful to play I just want to abuse the powers of the one
Malia Weinhagen talking about her father Dave Arneson

"The biggest thing about my dad's world is he wanted people to have fun in life," Weinhagen said. "I think we get distracted by the everyday things you have to do in life and we forget to enjoy life and have fun.

"But my dad never did," she said. "He just wanted people to have fun."

Well... Knights of the Old Republic 2..... where did you go wrong? You were going so well, ignoring the bugs! And then the ending!? Did you get bored and nod off or what... seriously...

If you like Baldur's Gate, then you might get one of the XMen Legends series. Smash Brothers, duh. I liked Vexx, but it isn't top ten. More, it's Mario 64 with more texture and darkness and 100 times as big. So, if you're into that sort of thing. If you're gonna get Donkey Konga, at least get 2 bongos so you can play with someone else, that's the point of the game.

On a similar note, I just got a DS. Any suggestions for me?
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

That kirby game, it looks fun and the sequel to the first M+L superstar game.
"How much time do you need?"

If you like Castlevania or Sonic, there's Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Sonic Rush, respectively.

So as far as good goes, there's platformers and what Nintendo released. Just like the SNES. Great.

Not saying that's everything. Those are the two games I own besides Mario 64 DS, which is pretty much a direct port with some mini-games attached. I can't really comment on the others... :/

Meh, sorry I snapped. I should actually check out some gaming forums, instead of the comic forums. :)

Well, the DS is testing the waters, so to speak, can't expect TOO much out of Nintendo right out of the gate.

If you're not interested in platformers, there's always Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Mario Kart: DS, Meteos, Nintendogs, Trace Memory, Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney (OBJECTION! Heheh.), and Under The Knife.

If you're looking for RPGs, I suggest you look at the vast library of GBA games, to hold you over until a real RPG hits the DS (Besides M+L2).

EDIT: Oh, and Animal Crossing DS, too, can't forget that.

but you can't expect too much right?

I think thats hilarious...

... we allready got all this... but you can't expect too much from us! :P

Castlevania and Wario Ware probably deserve a mention, as does Kirby Canvas Curse. Oh wait, you said not platformer, that elimates two of my additions...

...But hell, everytime I think about it I come up with another game to add to that list.

Edit 2: If your looking for games, why not wait for the 20th and get Hunters and Tetris DS?

Oh, and if you like vertical shoot-em-ups, you may want to take a look at Nanostray. I've yet to be able to play it myself, but it looks like it's at least decent...

Both Colosseum and XD are sub-par attempts by Nintendo to re-create the magic of the portable games for the 'Cube.

If you want to "Catch'em All!" then go with Colosseum, if you want slightly better gameplay, go with XD.

In other news, anyone read the review on Metriod Prime: Hunters? You can find it at Penny Arcade.

Decidedly interesting.

I'll definitely have to pick it up, I think.

After reading that Samus has turned into Duke Nukem, I think I'll pass on this one.

That's what I checked. Exploration's gone. Finding equipment is gone. You just run around blasting the crap out of things, then go to another world and blast the crap out of more things, and nothing else. And they actually have the gall to say that the single-player has not suffered? They turned Metroid into DOOM.

Ummm.... I think they just mean you don't lose your basics like your ability to use morph ball, missiles, and the Varia Suit. There has to be upgrades, because almost all the weapons in the game arn't weapons that Samus has had before. I don't see Samus wearing a Dark Suit in the 1p mode anywaysXD. There will be plenty of traditional Metroid platforming, it'll just be a little segregated...

Quote:

The Metroid tradition of a vast world connected by labyrinthine passages is abandoned; Samus Aran will travel from world to world in her quest. Samus begins the game equipped with weapons and doesn't lose them during the opening sequence, meaning there's less emphasis on item acquisition -- and on adventure, for that matter -- than in previous Prime games. By NST's admission, Hunters is predominantly an action game
