Oh, I've already *beaten* the game. (Well, haven't beaten Soma on Julius Mode, but eh) I'm trying to get all the legendary weapons. |

Girl, are you fo'rizzle? I'm finding magic a lot HARDER to use this game, where in the other games it was unstoppable. In Morrowind, my spells almost always connected, even at long range, and with AoE damage programmed in I could wipe out swarms with a few casts. Here, baddies move FAST, and they're quite skilled at dodging ranged powers (Damn you smart AI! I want the old, dumb AI back...). Maybe I'm not far enough yet (My only ranged power so far is the starting Flare spell), but so far the only thing keeping me alive is that since you can do anything in Elder Scrolls games, I typically have a claymore weilding, heavry armor wearing battlemage type, and my sword skills and armor are keeping me alive in combat, with Restoration magic keeping me going. Also, all my spells so far don't do nearly enough damage. My strongest spell is a 15 Frost Damage Cold Touch spell (Need to find a Mage's Guild... Need to find a place to hock gear for cash and then buy new spells...), that takes multiple blows to kill a Goblin, and can drain half my MP to kill one of those Imp things. On the flipside, one good swing of my claymore drops a goblin, and one or two swings drops an imp, no problem. I'm still having a lot of fun, but adapting to the new playstyle is weird and tricky, and all my Direct Combat spells seem to have gotten beat with a hose... |

Mrrr? Uh... okay? I couldn't get used to having to put away your weapon and take out your hands to use magic before. Also, unless I recall incorrectly, magika didn't regenerate quite so nicely as it does in Oblivion... all of which makes being a physical fighter with Restoration magic (which I attempted to do in Morrowind, but it was impossible) feasable. I have trouble hitting things at range, but the spells cost little enough magika that I can deal with it... edit: Oh, you don't have to go to the mage's guild to buy spells. Look at the stores on your map in cities. Some of them sell spells, the names should be obvious. edit dos: And enemies level with you, so you need to get new spells. That frost spell is BASE...

Yes, okay, THOSE are nice upgrades. Mana regeneration is something it's needed for a very long time, and while I didn't have a problem with spell switching before, it is nicer now to be able to have a weapon out and cast at the same time without switching, especially when curing damage. And I'm still stumbling around and figuring out the cities a lot. They're a lot more real now, and thus tend to be larger and harder to navigate. I'm not complaining (Hell no I'm not complaining, the game is layed out beautifully, excellent immersiveness. You don't find yourself going "They did that for game mechanics"), just saying. And enemies level with you?! Son of a bitch... I like low level enemies to stay easy, and high level enemies to be something to strive for... Although I did never like how getting levels in Elder Scrolls games works, maybe that will streamline it (Getting skills to get levels just feels horribly awkward... They should take out levels, and just include points along there way where maybe you earn "Advancement Points" for doing quests or certain tasks that enhance your attributes). |

Yeah, enemies level with you, so leveling can be bad. And you can only train a total of five skill points per level, so... yeah... ew... Basically, they made it harder to exploit the game. There IS a benefit of the enemies leveling with you. They get much better loot at much higher levels, so you actually get useful things at higher level rather than crap. Not much of a consolation, I know, but... *shrug*. A few other random comments about changes I like: 1) Reduction of skills. There were too many in the previous game. 2) Removal of the middle category in a few things. Most notably no secondary skills; either it's a major skill or its not. Also they removed medium armor, which was arguably worthless in the previous game, since the best medium set was crap... 3) Tangible benefits for going up in skills other than the obvious. Read the manual for descriptions - personally, I'd cackle at being an archer who can immobilize someone from range. And light armor not counting against your encumberance when you're wearing it? Oh, what's that, being able to repair a piece of armor above 100%? *dies happy*One thing I don't like... The menus. They feel overly bulky and not as refined as the rest of the game. A minor concern, really, since I can deal with them easily enough... |

Woo! I did it! I beat Regular! All 200 lines! Go me! HURG! NOOOOO! The endless mode I unlocked doesn't count towards tetris points(like alot of things). That sucks. and I'm only at 7755... how am I going to get to 10k with what few modes are left to me huh?! Edit: I hate to admit it, but I'm a bit disappointed in Tetris DS and Hunters. My first real disapointment for the system really, so thats not so bad but... eh.They don't stack up to Mario Kart DS thats for sure. |

(On oblivion) My Khajit leveled too fast, I also didn't get access to the Arcane University till recently. Enemies have become a real pain, but as soon as I enchant all my gear (still need glass helm/gloves >_<) I should be good, and I have a solid 35000G to do it with. That and my Khajit is pretty terrible as spellcasting. Its ok at restoration but thats about it. Going to play a Dunmer caster now though, maybe I'll go back to my Khajit after a while, but I want to try out a caster, as well as fighting low level stuff. Going to level this character a lot slower... (Acrobatics and Light armor skyrocketed me through levels on my Khajit, also causing me to usually only get +3 and a lot more +2 than I would like). Oh and the siege of Kvatch is really really nasty if the enemies are storm atronaughts and daedric spiders. |

I've noticed that sneaking is way underpowered. It's too easy, even at high levels of skill, for other people to notice you, and later in the game, the 6x bonus is a joke. What they should have done, is make it go to 12x, and at master give you a 5-10% chance to just outright kill whatever you just stabbed. Giving you a bonus for using daggers as opposed to longblades or axes would have been nice as well. EDIT: oh, and if anyone here is having framerate problems, it's probably the grass. Fix here. Highly reccomend this as well. |

Well... I got me a DS. I bought the Animal Crossing bundle, so that's cool. I gotta say, the DS impresses me. The controls are okay, if a bit cramped, and the stylus works better than I thought it would. The other two games I got were M+L Superstar Saga and Partners in Time. Only played Animal Crosseing for a bit, but it seems interesting. Havent played the other two yet.... And I think I need to get Mother 3 simply because it looks fucking odd... |

I'd recommend playing Superstar Saga first. There are some (minor) references you won't get otherwise. Also... In roughly twenty-four hours, I'll have my copy of Kingdom Hearts II! |

The superstar saga games are fantastic, and you should totally get around to playing them. For some reason, the second one feels a lot shorter. |
