Alright, I'm about four hours into Kingdom Hearts 2, and it's clear that I missed something rather important by not playing Chain of Memories. Is there anybody that has the time or inclination to give me (or point me in the direction of) a decent plot recap of CoM?

Oh, and Spoliertext is a good thing.

No direct-linky. And any synopsis if I don't really have time to sit down and read the entire script? Cliff-notes? <.<

FINE. Sora and co. go into a castle because people in black robes told them that what they were looking for was in there. Find out that as they go up they lose memories after they start, and they refuse to turn back. As they go up SOra gets more and more obsessed with a girl he just "remembered" called Namine, who looks like Kairi and replaced her in his memories. There is a mysterious group with black robes who you fight repeatedly, who all have elemental powers. In the end you find out that Namine was being controlled by the black robed people, and had the power to manipulate memories, and was being used in an attempt to control Sora by a renegade part of the black cloaked Group. Riku somehow got out with the King in the sub-sub-sub-sub basement of the castle, and the main part of the black robed people tried to convince him to embrace the darkness of Ansem that was within him and join them to counter the renagades' attempt to control SOra, Riku refuses. IN the end, Riku leaves after being told that the darkness contains ANsem and will someday consume him, and SOra and co. are sealed up in pods to have their memories restored and lose the memories of their time in the castle in the process.

THe part about Riku matters, and I believe that the black robed guys are the main villians of KH2, and Namine appears again and gets an orgin story.

Ah, alright. Thanks. And yes, <KH2> Organization XIII, as the black-robes are called, play a large part in KH2. I'm curioius about Axel though. He seemed like a really nifty character. How much do you see of him in Chain of Memories? </KH2>

TO KNight:
He was one of the major "villians", yes, though his actual goal was to protect Sora from being brainwashed by the rebel Organization members, who he was infiltrating. YOu fought him frequently, after which he always gave SOra useful advice.

Huh... You don't see a lot of him in KH2, and the third time he shows up, you kill him... but I was sorry to see him go. He seemed really cool. /--

Continuing on with with KH2 spoilers!

Yeah, Axel was pretty cool. The ending of he beginning just left me kinda sad. I actually grew accustomed to Roxas, maybe even more than Sora by the end, and then BAM! Gone! *sniffle*.

And aside from what was already mentioned about Chain of Memories... There's also some stuff about Riku and how using both light and darkness may be better than either of them. Something along those lines.

That, and Sora's last boss showed that flowers can be bad-ass.

END.

I'd also like to say, without spoiler, the Pirates of the Carribean level was hilarious. And completely didn't fit at all.

Yeah, true enough. The guy did go to a lot of trouble writing up what the game would be like, though...The little details he mentions are what pulled me in and made me think it might just be real.

Of course, the true masters of joking would think about the little details, wouldn't they?
