You know, it's only in hindsight, but I realize now that Xenogears is ultimately little more then the most complete reimagining of Evangelion ever.

The managed to have homages of (nearly) every detail, right down to sudden and nearly complete loss of funding in the second half.

At least, in the very end, Fei managed to stop sucking long enough to save the world.

I swear to god that happened with FFT too.

Square cut the funding i didn't know that, I thought the Developers were just half assing it as much as possible.

Crist atleast shadow madness had some good points

I'll beat xenosage ep 2... when I get around to it. And Xenogears disc 2 was good if you like heavy installments of plot.

Is that directed towards Xenogears/saga or RPGs in general?

I think he means that he would perfer to be doing battles as opposed to reading character monolauges for half a disk.

Luppy is inteligent enough to know if you are getting into an RPG you are gonna be pressing one button alot for long periods.

Ugh...Character monologues...

When designing characters for an RPG, it is essential to follow these rules.
1: Always have one character that is totally useless until you get his best weapon/spell/armour. At which point he becomes stupidly game breaking.
2: Always have at least two characters that are unbelievably powerful throughout the entire game, and generally complement the others weakness. These two are often rivals.
3: Always have a healer. Generally attractive female. Also usually romantically involved with lead character.
4: There is always a comic relief character. Generally a thief.
5: The dark, brooding ninja/archmage is generally present somewhere.
6: The strong, serious guy is there somewhere. Generally the most physically powerful member, but the dumbest.

There are more. I'm sure they will get posted as people think of them.

Excuse my ignorance to your non sequiturs, but I just want to say this:

At about two hours in, Mother 3's story is seeming to be a great deal sadder then either of its predecessors...
Still a lot of humor and general oddity, but sad none-the-less. I'm quite impressed.

(Q)_< WHITE MAGE! WHY THE SMART GIRLS ARE LEARNING IT!

And have a character that has very expensive equipment at one point of the game who disapeers AFTER the player can buy the equipment but BEFORE they can use it and if this character returns it will be at a point in the game where his/her equipment will need to be replaced already or otherwise be useless

Don't worry, if the Bison ever take over the midlands Godzilla will take care of them. Just like he did with Bambi.

You know, I'd always steal Mog's spear for Edgar later on. But I can't tell if that's the kind of thing you're talking about...
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

Another in my list of finished games. I beat Chain of Memories at long last. I hate Marluxia so much. And I hate Square for not putting a scene skip option in CoM. I must've seen that damn "Erase my memory, Namine!" "No, I refuse!" cut-scene 50 times now.

Onward to Reverse/Rebirth.

So when I went for a rental, I discovered that I'd finished everything that looked good. The only options left were military simulation or an adventure platformer starring a walking set of boobs.

On that note, Tomb Raider: Legend is surprisingly not bad.

Eh, I never really caught on to the Tomb Raider series. Only played the Saturn version of the first one, and it never appealed much to me.

Oh, and today I went to a local Strawberries (chain of music/movie stores that also has a handful of video games, for those that don't have one near them), and picked up Mobile Light Force for PS1. I've yet to try it, but I do tend to like vertical shoot 'em ups. And besides, at a whopping $4.20, I'm not exactly losing much if it turns out to be garbage...

I heard after the heartless war, that levels like Pride Rock and Agrabah will be all messed up is this true?
