Let's face it, all X-box's got going for it is Halo. Which are good games, but not awesome incarte as some would have you believe. All you ever hear people talk about when they talk X-box is Halo this and Halo that. |

Eh, I don't see Microsoft going down anytime soon. Even IF they just have Halo, it's enough, really. Fun fact: During MS's press conferance at E3, the representative out-and-out said that gamers should, instead of dropping $600 on a PS3, just get an 360 AND a Wii, and save some money.

And won't stop three either. *sigh* I gotta hear about THAT at school everyday. It was bad enough when two came out and everybody fought over how early they were gonna be at Gamestop... |

Nintendo's been living off the portable systems recently. The fact is, I think they shit on us with the GCube because they didn't really need us. They let Sony and Microsoft battle it out, and only acted when Sony tried to take over its new turf. I figure once they nailed the PSP with the DS, they figured the jig is up, and they better make their move and play their hand(although they are apparently still concealing some cards). I mean, honestly, even though the plan relied on jilting gamers, I think I love Nintendo for it. The past few years on the portables have been just AWESOME. Without the need of having competitors, GBA owners have been treated REALLY well on the games department. I mean, if you never bought a GBA, you missed out on ALOT of good gaming. The best thing is, is that since its portable, that meant we got almost all 2d games. As I said before, when the DS and PSP came out, I was REALLY worried that 2d gaming was finally going to go by the wayside, but if anything the DS took 2d and made it its bitch. There are games for the DS that I think display the most awesome 2d graphics ever. Castlevania looks freaking sweet(actually, some of the backgrounds are even 3d), and Kirby, although cartoony, looks like it would be IMPOSSIBLE to do on any other 2d system. I mean, all the franchises I've ever wanted have been done in their appropriate dimensional depth on the DS, and I completely love that. The ONLY DS/GBA game thats disapointed me yet is kinda the Mario&Luigi games, partly because I miss the badge system, and partly because I can't stand the roulette wheel. I'd honestly love it if Nintendo would just fuse Mario&Luigi and Paper Mario's controls. I LOVE the defensive moves in M&L and the team supers, but I can't STAND pretty much everything else about it. /rant |

Off the top of my head, I'm guessing Bomberman 64 MORE WALL OF TEXT: You know, Phantom Hourglass is like, what I wanted from Zelda on the 64 before it came out. I.E. 3d Zelda, but using a fixed overhead perspective. Of course, they used the WW style graphics, but I bet thats because they didn't want to make new models, or use the ugly 64 models, and they just couldn't use the current-gen models. Fair enough I say, just make the gameplay good ya know? |

As long as the graphics aren't eye bleeding and you can have a good time, WHO CARES that it looks like? ANd don't knock the 3D zelda games. Sweet Christmas, but Ocarina is stupid fresh. And Majora's Mask is just stupid. But fun to play. BARON'D, And the game was Dragon Warrior 3. |

I didn't, I'm just saying, before I actually saw Zelda 64, I was kinda hoping on the overhead perspective thing for a N64 Zelda. I think OoT was... less than perfect anyways. Not bad, hell good considering how they were pioneering the genre and all, but I would have prefered a more traditional Zelda. As for the release date, I saw it, but I honestly forget what it was. Winter of this year, I think? |

Don't look at a game in a new format expecting a sequal, look at it looking for a new experiance that draws from the old. IE, just because the SOnic Adventure games weren't Sonic 4 and 5 doesn;t make them bad games, and just because Ocarina's a 3rd Person from rear adventure instead of a top-down doesn't make it bad either. Its, in my oppinion, just as good as LttP, just in its own way. Divergance from the old isn;t always bad. Though it SOMETIMES is. Edit: Look at what happened with Twilight Princess and the pushback of SSBB away from launch titleship. Big N doesn't have the best record with setting dates beforehand. |

No offense, but while I think there was value to be found in the N64 game, the combat was and still is a bit lacking. Wind Waker fixed it some, but it did such a horrible job on the length of the game, and on the bosses, to counter-act all the great work that was done to the combat system(the regular enemies all over huge overhauls). It didn't have too many items either, which limited the puzzles alot(I mean, hookshot and grappling hook anyone?). I expect the new Zelda should be pretty good, and that future releases of Zelda should have even more improvements to the system, but it cannot be denied that some portions of what we consider a Zelda game were skimped on in order to accomidate budgets and release dates. |

Well the original Xbox had the Halos, Mech Assault, Ninja Gaiden, DOA, KOTOR (might have been on the PC but most preferred the Xbox version), and most of the console scenes best FPS. ALso anyone who wants to paint OOT as anything but near the greatest game if not the greatest game ever along with Super Mario World is hankering for a fight. |

In truth, the wii-remote solves alot of the issues Zelda had, in that it was allready using all the buttons on the controller. I can imagine future Zeldas beyond Twilight Princess will involve some heavy duty and innovative uses of that remote. Theres alot of potential there, and I'm hoping Nintendo will use it to come up with some new weapons, or convert some that up till now have been 2d only. edit: Oracle series owns OoT

Not only was Oracle 2d, but it was 2 games. At the same time. Thats just awesome. It was filled with awesome puzzles, original weapons, animal rides, the ring system, and music. Good lord, I mean every dungeon in both games had a unique tune. Someone at Nintendo/Capcom had a field day with music when they made those games. I mean, compare what was done in Oracle to Majora/WW/Minish Cap. It was LONG. They say Twilight Princess is going to be the most expansive Zelda yet, and I sure hope their right, because Oracle set a horrible precident for them. edit: Hell, Oracle was the trend setter for the map collection aspects of WW and the Kinstones of Minish. The games had something like 7 different overworld maps if you count all the different seasons, and it had multiple towns filled with the most diverse range of beings in Zelda's existance. The maps were pretty HUGE too. |
