Sorry, sorry...this is just something totally different from all the other stuff I've been doing this far. I didn't take any of it into consideration. In this case, the postcount is just an area where you dump cards for payment costs.

So it gets dealt out of your hand to enable something else to work, like the token type of card in yugi-oh?

Wait, what?

In yu-gi-oh, you play higher level cards by sacrificing the ones currently on the field, and tokens are like substitution monsters.

I'm thinking of the specific case where you have to sacrifice a monster or token monster every turn to keep the panther warrior thing on field or whatever.
but i think I really don't know what I'm talking about anymore.

Oh, right...It's an Amazon card you're thinking of...same stats as a Panther Warrior, but slightly different effect. Right.

Anyway, what I mean is entirely as follows:

The postcount is an area on the field that holds the cards you use to pay for playing other cards.

You play a card to the postcount once a turn. Any card may be played there.

When playing a card, you must select cards in the postcount area whose total Spirit is greater than or equal to the Resistance of the card you're playing. These cards are tapped, and cannot be selected for the purposes of playing further cards. They are untapped at the beginning of your next turn.

I understand the rest...but how do they get into the post count area in the first place?
What determines a card as being a postcount one?

ANY card can be played into the postcount. It can only be done once a turn.

What makes a card a postcount card is precisely the fact that it has been placed into that area.

Ok. but why would you do that instead of actually playing a card?

I mean, are there a lot of crappy or mediocre cards so there's enough of a resevoir for an actual game to build up?

You would put a card into the postcount specifically because in order to play any of the other cards, you need to have cards in the postcount.

If there's something you have that you don't think you will end up using, you play it there.

Ok...
I think I get it. I guess.
I'm still confused about if cards in post count stack effects so you can play stronger cards, and how that's tabulated, if it is...

Oh, I see...Do you mean card effects that activate from the Postcount area?

In such a case, cards activate starting from the last placed in the zone.

I like the postcount idea, that makes the people making a deck need to work harder because if you base it on one card, that card camn quite randomly end up being in MTG terms, one mana.

I'm constructing two vague decks that will be used to test the game, and make sure that the rules work.
Namely, superhero and supervillain decks.

Here's a quick sample from the supervillain deck thus far.

Comic Book Death: Select one superhero or supervillain type creature from any players grave, and summon it to your side of the field.

Secret Lair: Increase the Insanity and Willpower of all Supervillains by 4. Once a turn, when burn damage is inflicted to an opponent, you may increase your sanity by the total number of Supervillains on the field.

Mastermind: When this card is summoned or special summoned, select one supervillain in your grave, and add it to your hand. You may not summon the selected supervillain during this turn.

Disintigration Beam: Burn
When the equipped creature attacks, the defending opponent must discard from their hand. If there are no cards in the defending players hand, destroy this card.

Sure!

Suggest a few villains and what their effects might be. In fact, you could all make a game out of it. The effects don't have to be too specific, and it might help if, in the case of creatures, if you provided stats.
Now, the actual stats don't have to be provided...Just provide the offensive, defensive and summoning difficulty stats on a scale of one to ten.

10 for Offensive/Defensive means the stat is high, 1 means it's nearly 0 if not actually 0.
10 for summoning difficulty means it's really difficult to summon, 1 means hardly any effort is needed.

Just to clarify. :^_^:

Doom would most likely get a whole deck strategy all to himself, being a formerly active forumite.

Unless the majority of people decide that would be a bad thing.

...From what I've heard, shouldn't "Unless" be "Even if"? Especially if it resulted in an epic battle?

Getting ideas... Think I should try for a "Doomsday Device" card, or is that too general (There are a LOT of Doomsday Devices.)

Hmm...Do all the different kinds of doomsday devices, then.
And when doing stats, take into consideration the effect as well...That's common sense, but it needs to be said.

Post Edit: Place a card from your postcount into your hand.

ANGST!: Increase Insanity and Willpower of all Antiheros by 4, all villains by 2, or all heros by 2; and all teenagers by an additional two. If an antihero card is placed into the graveyard, you may sacrifice this card to put it back into play.

We'll Meet Again: Decrease Willpower of target villain by 2 plus the summon cost. If target villain is placed in the graveyard, the owner may put it back into play, into his/her hand, or into his/her postcount for free. If placed into play or hand, you may pay an extra two and put this card on target villain again.

Ninja Mook: 2Sum/4Ins/4Wil. Mook (Gets -1Willpower for all other cards of the same type in play until Willpower=1 in which case gets -1 Insanity for all other cards after that. Stat decrease stops when all stats are at 1. Other cards of the same type may be played without further stat decrease. In addition, pay 2 to search your deck for a card of the same type.) Special: Pay X to search your deck for X cards of the same type.

...I'm just warming up for now, I'll get better, I promise!

Working on idea for "Zerg Rush" card.
