"The thing that would not die!" When it gets destroyed by any means, it comes back the next turn. Like Sinister Serpent on steroids. Which is a scary thought in and of itself. |

You know, this would be an interesting forum contest. Design a forum or Captain SNES card game, with rules and example cards. |

Obscure Reference: Make an obscure reference. If your opponent gets it, they get +2/+2 to all creatures and can attack immediately. If they do not, the opposite is true. Whomever attacks via this card, their opponent cannot defend. |

I like that Obscure Reference card, and it inspired another idea. Give some Avatar cards a certain knowledge specialization. For example, I would have Anime (or maybe WoW) as my specialization, Notty would have Pokemon, etc etc. People with that avatar out would get bonuses when a thread involving their specialization was out, like maybe a +1 to whatever the defensive stat is called, or a penalty to attacking creatures that have their avatar's knowledge specialization. Thus, rather than having to come up with an obscure reference (since that's not very... rules-y), you could simply choose a knowledge spec from a thread in play (or your avatar's), and the defending player would roll a dice and modify the result based on cards they controlled that had that knowledge spec. This inspires the following, as well: Rules Lawyering: Because of new edition rules, target effect that requires someone to roll a dice instead requires them to roll a dice of the next size category larger/smaller (your choice). (1d2 -> 1d4 -> 1d4 -> 1d8 -> 1d10 -> 1d12 -> 1d20 -> 1d30 -> 1d100, I would think, and flipping a coin would be the 1d2). And now, to think of more cards involving dice! |

So....threads would be like battlefields? Arc:SPAM ACOLYTE:Gains 2X stats for the first 5 turns of which a Spamsylvania thread card is played, after which the bonus is null. Yes, I have no skills, I dont even think Im good at spam. |

Yeah, Alan... will definitely be a force to be reckoned with. His very existance denies the use of entire categories of cards. Like Luppy, apparently.

Ambiguous Link: flip a coin. If heads, you gain three life and draw a card. If tails, lose three life and remove the top card of your deck from the game. |

(sighs) The real stickler with this is the ruleset. I doubt it's possible to get everyone here to agree to any simple set of rules that anyone can follow. And even if we did, someone would find a way to misinterpret the rules, leading to all levels of confusion. Which is why I gave up. Well, that, and having not enough damned time to do anything with it. |

You DO know, Drekal, that rules usually aren't decided by popular consensus... at least, not requiring unanimous agreement... if you're gonna make the game, you can decide on the rules without making EVERYONE happy about it. ![]() I don't know if it seemed like it, but I never intended anything I said here as more than I suggestion. If you don't use them I won't be crushed. And I really don't think that anyone else expects everything they say to be used. ...although since you've already stopped making it, this is pointless to say, but I thought I'd try to reassure you on that, at least. |

I've almost got a workable ruleset. I just have to work out the kinks, and then it'll be ready to see what everyone else thinks. |
