I have an idea for a few turn missing cards....

Work *Taget opponant missis next X turns loses 10 sanity*

School *Taget opponant missis next X turns lose 10 insanity*

Girlfriend *Taget opponant missis next X turns gain 10 sanity*

Video Game *miss one turn gain, 10 insanity*

Also heres a card for my deck

Great Will Of the Subforum - Deal 10 damage to both sanity and insanity to your opponant, then shuffle this card into their deck until end of play*

and another card to terrorize the masses

The Owl - This card can be played imediatly after a player plays a card that has been played by themselves or by another player, Do X sanity damage where is is the number of times the card has been played times 10

CARD THREAD NOW! - look at the next three cards of your deck, and your oponents deck

Postcount +1 - Gain 10 sanity and insanity.

And then they Started Line Dancing (Alans deck) - Opponat loses 10 sanity, gains 5 insanity.

Ninja Hide (drek's deck) - opponnants last attack missed

Into the Dumpster - You and all oponents search for last card played in your decks, when you find it, remove it from game (I'm imagining a Hec Quote on this)

Also I really hate the idea of Dice being anywhere in this game. When I play a card game I am there to play cards, not play craps...

You know, I don't much like the idea of calling them "Creatures". Let's try "Characters" instead.

And, uh, we're not suggesting cards and strategies right now, unless we are using them to explain the rules.

I really don't llike the idea of 2 health bars... I'm just saying it seems like a bad concept.

[edit] I've only been using "Creatures" for support creatures to help your "Avatar" character.

How is it any different from the other card games you play?

the only thing different here is they actually AFFECT game play...

then if your still going to have 2 bars, might I suggest that you have the second be harder to effect overall and be a tougher win condition?

The creatures don't actually attack. Instead, there's a whole other card type that attacks, but you have to select a creature to trigger it. The card itself has an offensive stat, as well as a requirement. The creature must have the appropriate stat higher than or equal to the cards requirement stat.

Does that make sense?

So if I get this straight....

You have Support Characters with stats like Mag:5 and in order to trigger something like oh say Fireball they need Mag: 5 or above?

Oh and my idea about the health system. You have your Avatar with its health that will generally fluxuate all over the place over the course of a match, but you have your players WILL that starts out at 5, but its very difficult to damage a players will directly. (Rare cards can effect a players will. Like P-chan Hentai.... Loose 3 will) Have Zero Will you lose the game... Not sure if you should win by having a high enough will though (Like 10.)

Yeah, instead, let's just put a cap on the will...It can't exceed a certain amount.

Another possibility is paying willpower might be required to activate cards.

Well I like that idea. that makes you need to put support critters out that have either a narrow based skill set tuned to your deck type or a wide range of skills.

I think we should limit the amount of support critters to 4 and each critter can only cast one "Effect" (spell) a turn.

[edit] Generally the only cards that can effect will are cards based on things that would normally enrage a poster... like being sent a link to www.justfuckinggoogleit.com when your expecting a helpfull link. but I dunno.

This is making my head hurt a little...

Fine... how about Insanity and Endurance?
Endurance is used for penalities, Insanity for power-ups.
Get 100% insanity you win. Max out your Endurance, you lose.

Losing could be called Burn-out?

You know, it would be cool to me if there was a card game where BOTH sides of the bar killed you!

Like a sanity bar that goes from -10 to 10 and reaching either -11 or +11 was deadly.

That way, no monster should be REALLY overpowered.

Like having a really low or high number worked as a bonus to your attack or something, but poses a risk of getting you killed by an instant or a stat changing monster ability or something.

I still think an OverPower based deck would work better. It's designed to give everybody very different abilities.

let me go into some basics. Even if you don't like the idea, the basics might help somebody come up with better ideas.

This is a basic hero card. It give the stats of the character. (Stats rank from 1 being the lowest to 8 being highest, although we could adjust this.)

We might want to replace ENERGY, FIGHTING, and whatever, with other status, but that's the basis.

This is an attack card. (Specifcially, this is a Fighting Attack). Anybody with a fighting stat of 4 or higher can play this card. Unless it's blocked, it causes fourd amage to the target.

This is a character sopecific card. Only Spider-man can use this card.

This is a Universe card. basically, it adds abilites or attack power. In this case, it requires an ^ strenght to use and acts as a level 7 attack

Now attacks can be blocked by an equal or higher card.

Now this is where we'd realy need to start tweaking things. Typically, in OverPower, a person has three (or four I can't remember exactly) hero cards and one in reserve.

A hero card is considered KOd when it takes either 20 damage, or gets damanged once by each type of basic atatck.
