The anime only pretends to follow the rules of the actual card game. They do some things right, like the chain rule (last card activated in a chain resolves first).

However, I will say this: Konami constantly releases cards that are potentially game breaking. Then ban them as soon as they realise their mistake.

Now you've just ruined the remainder of my Calculus-free weekend... >_<

:P

Anyway, what are some examples of these "banned cards"?

The God cards don't have effects. Outside the computer games.

Also, Exodia is five weak as all hell monsters, that allow you to declare victory if all of them are in your hand at the same time.

Banned cards include:
Tribe Infecting Virus: Discard one card from your hand, and declare a type of monster. All monsters of that type on the field are destroyed. This effect can be used multiple times in a turn, so long as you can discard cards.

Sinister Serpent: If this card exists in your graveyard during your Standby Phase, you may return it to your hand.

Ring of Destruction: Select one face up monster card on the field, and destroy it. Inflict damage equal to that monsters ATK to both players.

Chaos Emperor Dragon-Envoy of the Beginning: This card can only be special summoned by removing from your graveyard one light and one dark attribute monster. You may pay 1000 LP to destroy every card on the field, and in both players hands. For each card destroyed, inflict 300 damage to your opponents LP.

Yeah forum logic is fun. If you run out of cards you win kinda works..... we can have cards like "Barroning" and "attack of the mods" to force you to lose postcount.... How about every time you use a non creature card It ges into what would be traditionally called a grave yard, but for purposes of this game, your postcount. Creatures go onto a seperate pile when they die

Hmm...I guess that could make sense. Send the characters to a graveyard, while everything else ends up in the Postcount section...Okay!

And Baron'd could work something like:
Select one card at random from your opponents hand, and shuffle it into their deck.

I think before I can come up with an idea for the card phases, I'm going to need the official rules thus far.

Cause right now, all I can come up with is:

Draw phase
Standby phase
Summon phase*
Post phase*
Attack/defend phase*
Second standby
End turn.

Spell (or the equivilant thereof) cards can be played on any of the astrix'D phases unless the card says otherwise.

And really, I'm just pulling that out of my ass. So, I'd like a simplified synopsis of the rules that we already have so far.

Needless to say, we're going to abide by the Golden Rule from Magic. (If a card says it can break the rules, it can). Unless I'm mistaken. Am I mistaken?

from what i've gathered you are correct wuth the phases. We start with aan avatar, whicxh has a set insanity limit. It draws, plays cards up to it's insanity level, then the other person id free to use cards blocking, using their insanity level. If you use all your insanity durring your turn you just screwed yourself over if someone else attacks after, kinda like tapping mana in magic.....

tell me iof i'm wrong...

Ah.

So, are those phases good then? Or do they still need work?

Yes, yes we are playing by the "Golden rule". And those phases work fine with what I had in mind.

Unless anybody else has any complaints?

With fixed spelling.

And yeah, that looks about right. But again, if anybody has any complaints, go right ahead.

Each avatar gets its special powers!

oh, wait. We're not there yet.

So... do we contemplate what kinds of decks each other's gonna have yet? :P

Ok, serious time, what's the next step?

I still think that a specific "Color Wheel" needs to be defined. If any deck can play any card at any time it will likely end up like yugioh where there are only 2 or 3 playable archtypes at all.

I actually had the thought of actuall lands, being the SNES forum we use lands from Videoland like Crono's or Mushroom Kingdom. Then certain types of cards are specificaly limited to a certain genre. Like Lifegain would be from RPGS since most RPG involve healing, then burn can be from first person shooters ect.
