*Shrugs* Its your call, but if you want to do everything yourself, I think you'd approve of YVD. |

Yeah, it's really easy to use, and even has this built in calculator to help make sure you get everything worked out properly. Use it...You know you want to! |

Anyone want to have a go, YVD-style? I can't host, between semi-paranoid computer-owner and not knowing how to open the right ports on my router, but if anyone else can, consider this another open challenge. |

I have nothing better to do... But I can't host, either. I'm on a parent's computer and I'm sadly not allowed to mess with the router. |

Dammit! Now I wish I still had the old YGO PC games, so I could at least get a duel in against the computer.... Meh. Next time someone who can host wants a duel, if I get there first, I'll take'em on. |

Sorry for double-posting (would edit, but I don't know if it'd be seen), but is there anyone here who's available at this moment, who can host on YVD? I steer clear of the chat (for the reasons mentioned above, mainly the 'mostly people saying "I can't host, duel me" *in bad l33t or AIMspeak*' bit), so I can't find anyone that way, and I haven't been in contact with any of my friends who duel, so I haven't been able to tell them about/find out if they have the program. |

Vortex's Smash Course for YVD Right, I'm gonna put together some useful stuff for this nifty little program for your perusal and crap. Just gonna answer some of the more prominent questions, and then maybe I'll expand on it. Right, first thing I'm ALWAYS asked, is "OMG, How do's I host? Lolz! It Don't work!?" (Paraphrasing the IRC channel). Simple answer: Ports. If you haven't got a firewall/router then stop reading now. You're quite probably already set to go, just test it out. For the rest of you, you'll have to blow a fairly prominent hole in your firewall. Go into your router/firewalls config, and find the port forwarding option. (Its something like that. Just have a play. No, I don't know where it is because it differs from model to model. RTFM.) Once you've found it, you want to blow open ports 7237 - 7239 TCP/UDP. (Its probably either or, but I haven't had the time to check, so you can experiment and correct me if you wish.) Get it to forward this info to your internal IP address (Of the machine you're playing on) and you should be set. In game click listen, and then start listening, give your opponent your IP address, and kick their arse. Second off: Updates. On the page you get the download from, it gives you a link to someone that does the set and image updates. Download the set data and unzip it to your YVD folder (C:\Program Files\YVD by default) and they should appear when you restart the game. For the images, it comes with an installer, however it might not work, so unzip them somewhere temporary (Empty, preferably. Trust me.) and then copy them into C:\Program Files\YVD\Images or your equivalent path. They should then appear when the programs started. Right, thats the major things I can think of. Any requests? |

It can be. Most decks can, if thought through properly. It's all about matching the psychology to the right deck. That's the tricky part. Baron'd There is a weakness there, which my balance deck actually exploited a little. Vorts other decks are very good at exploiting that weakness too. |

Odd. I always used Norton to get at my router. Now, for some reason, Norton is saying it needs to be activated, and I can't do a damn thing with it, especially messing with router. So I can't stealthily open those ports while no one's looking. Ah well. Someone want to duel me anyway? I threw together a dragon deck rather quickly, I'd like to see how it holds up. |

I would, but same problem different reason. Can't host, but due to oversecure/kinda-paranoid comp-owner. |

Eh, its needs trimming down and rebalancing. I've still got cards in there that are defunct now, what with my poor *Sniff* BLS: EotB being banned *Sniff*. It was hit rather badly by the updated banlist, and I STILL haven't got around to kicking it into shape. |
