I really never got why the games were seperate anyway.

Maybe ditching the SPAM section and making it into an actual Topic specific game section... or something. I dunno.

Anyway, at the very least it's still more used than the serious dicussion section.

I miss wen there was one forum.... I mean SOME PEOPLE don't like spending 20 minutes checking one forum then having to back all the way out so they can go to another forum to discuss something somewhat seriously, then having to back out and go to one to play games, them backing out to go to one about cats, then backing out to go to one about anime, them going to one based on what numbers are between 1 and 1000000000000000000000

I HATE HAVING TO MANY FORUMS!!!!!!!!!!!

If I wanted to have 1600 mini forums I would go read megatokyo or something.

One of the reasons why I said we should have a video game subforum is because this site does not feel right without it. After all, this webcomic has a lot of parts from various video games, so why shouldn't video games have its own subforum?

Because although this site includes videogames, it isn't about video games. It's about a webcomic.

So if we have vg subforum, why not a "webcomic" subforum? And since the games and other webcomics things are megathreads, why not movies too? Where do you draw the line?

Though, I'm still against it because I think that it's better when everything is focused into one large topic. Like... A normal forum with a crapload of subforums that are spread out is like a flashlight. But here, where everything is focused, it's like a laser. And what's cooler, a flashlight or a laser?

Because subforums are evil by nature since it require a bit more clicking and might make it easier to find stuff. That, and everyone is afraid of change.

Essentially you'd draw the line on what would require it, and what wouldn't. It's really not too hard to figure out which would get their own. Webcomics? Well, we talk about them a lot, so yeah. Fishing? Never talk about it on here, so probably not. Sports? Mentioned a few times a year, but that's it.

And it depends where you are: if you're in a base surrounded by enemies, a laser will be better. If you're in a dark room, a flashlight will be a bit better.

But when it all boils down to it, I don't think anything is going to be changing anytime soon, so everyone can stop worrying about the doomsday subforums which will destory us all.
There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. So no you get some text of me bitching about it, yaaay! Also, go vote.

Poor analogy. The megatopics are anything but focused.

I miss the one forum to rule them all method of TWC... we discussed the plot, eventually went off topic, and themn Miranda would beat the shit out of me...

On this forum I practically invented godmodding just so I could get up after her attacks...

Mostly, though, I just want the games to be active again. thats all I really want changed.

Then mention games in the topic.... It's not difficult... You would think you are trying to get newb to say a cohearant sentence or something.

If you want to discuss games than bring it up, others will join.... It's like a cult these conversation things. Eventually you will have the discussion raging so much that people will proclaim you god and then they will sacrifice virgins to your "divining rod"...

no. not those games, luppy. the forum games. like the Payt and the Picture Duel, and all those other fun games we used to have that are now buried unactive in the Spamsylvania graveyard.

By focused I don't mean "on topic", I mean "the whole crapload of stuff confined to a smaller area".

...

And I would totally still take the laser in the dark room. :P

To Car: Exactly. And It'd so be worth it.

To Red: Havn't actually played Doom 3. Not much of an FPS man. Though I still like rail shooters.

If there was a move to "smaller" threads (i.e. more specific ones), this forum would die, and it would die /fast/.

Most people only have 2-3 real things to say about any given subject -- unless it's something like WoW or Marvel comic books, in which case people could go on forever. But the point is, every time someone makes a post -- say I post a thread about Supreme Commander (which is going to fuggin' rule) -- we get some people posting how cool it is or why it's going to suck or whatever, maybe one page max, and then it dies, because there are new topics.

You end up with a glut of topics, all of which are less than one page.

Although it's harder to find old stuff specifically with "megatopics" (theoretically -- I've never actually used the search function, it's probably just fine, and may even be better since you can probably look in a single post), it keeps things moving in a general concept, and it allows people to post to a thread without fear of backlash("this isn't topic-worthy") or of the topic dying too quickly.

Outside of several voiced complaints in the RP section, which I still do like, and which the complaints have very little to do with the structure of the forum, this is the best forum I've ever been to.

I've seen several forums fall because they were too split up.

consolidation is a good thing.
