Need =/= true. What it basicly is, I think, is a glorifed MS Paint. Just a bit more powerful. You do not need more powerful

Fine, I'll use your blasted MS paint!

Now, like I was asking, I don't get the whole ripping from a sprite sheet thing.

You take the Marquee tool, you turn the image thing to transperency, than you make a box over the sprite allowing to basicly drag and drop it where you want. Uh...be careful not to turn off the marching ants thing until you have the sprite pefectly where you want it.

If its got a colored background... either set the entire background to that color (by right-clicking on it in the palette) or fill it in to match the actual background color.
Live and learn - or die and teach by example.

Where would I find these in microsoft paint?

I know that might sound entirely retarded not usually this slow, just extremely bad at directions.

I actually recommend Graphics Gale. The free version doesn't save to certain formats, but I don't expect you to care much, seeing as how if it's for a project you're more likely to print directly from the program.

One bit of advise, your first comic will suck ass. This is strangly an art you must refine. As stupid as that sounds considering the subject matter.

If we're being all ambiguous, I found a MSPaint tutorial with pictures. It has the basics of cut+paste+text only, you'll need sprites and background(s).
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

Oh I realize that, I just want to be able to create an alright looking project.

How long does it usually take to make a normal sprite comic?

Depends on how much time you put into it. The most simple ones can be put together in about 5-10 minutes, give or take dialogue.

Anyone know a particularly good site to gather sprites?

Does anybody know of some good 16 bit games I could use for Ancient Greece and the 14-18th centuries?

Also could I see some Just Jon or is it MFD? Which one of you has the one with the brown coat? *Looks kind of like me in the brown coat I never take off* and would you mind if I used it?

Lastly any joke advice or funny things I could beat into it? Basically the summary is "Follow Tim Donnelly (me) a slacker whose seen far too many Bill and Ted movies who hasn't done Mr Poirier's science project as he goes through time to learn about the atom"

For the love of GOD, use REAL text bubbles.

No lines with text floating above them. Blech.

Well I planned on using them, I just need to know the best way to make them.

I really only have 2 days to create a project where I interview 15 different guys.

and damnit I just remembered, I need to find an additional 3 guys for the project, since I only have 12 at the moment!

What shape of text bubble do you want? I use rectangular, but a rounded rectangle does look much nicer.

Whatever is the best combo of easy but good looking. Remember I have to be able to do this quickly when I get it all out.

But yeah do you guys know of any of the other stuff like a good game to get sprites for ancient greek guys and people who would be from colonial times?
