So, Alex must stop treating Captain Captor as a straw man to be right against. I guess that means he is overcoming the main obstical in his understanding what's going on. |
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

So, Megaman has become a silent protagonist and Ryan can still hear him. Couple theories here, first is the old theory that Ryan isn't actually Alex's Ryan, but rather the Ryan from Final Fantasy legends brought out of the Gameboy. That's one though, Ryan has said something may have changed, and the first thing that comes to mind about Videoland's changing is Alex himself. It's said that the gamemaster influences Videoland itself. It's possible that it's not just current changes, but a ripple, where the past of Videoland is being rewritten to suit the gamemaster's ideas. If this is the case, it's possible that Alex and his cynical world view may just be the worst thing to ever happen to Videoland itself. If the past is also being rewritten to suit Alex's ideas, this would also explain why Chrono Trigger is so important to the new scheme of things. It might just be possible to go back to points that haven't been reached by Alex's ideas yet. Or not. Just throwing out ideas. |

Its possible that since being touched by the SoS gave Spoony the ability to see his world was a game, that it could give Ryan the ability to see things as if he were in the game. |

Or it could have given the Sprite version of Ryan some memories of the real one who he was based on. |

Or he has viewed some historacal archives of the cartoons. Or he was constructed out of Alex's memories. Or he's Game Master of an era where Silent Protaganists weren't the norm, and thus he hears them because he doesn't know he shouldn't be able to. Damn it. I've confused myself again. |

Is Ryan the only one from the real world who can hear silent protagonists. Comic 52 seems to indicate that someone can read a silent protagonist's mind. |

Well, surely the mind reader wasn't necessary. All they really needed was someone else to come along, and say what the Links were saying. Unless this falls into the weirdness Alex was talking about. Almost certainly does. |

I wasn't referring to the Links. I was referring to the part where thought bubbles were coming out of Crono and indicating his thoughts. Since Alex was the narrator, this seems to indicate that Alex had an idea of what Crono was thinking. Of course, there are other explanations such as Alex making assumptions about Crono's thoughts and adding them to his narration. |

Except it looks like Ryan could ALWAYS hear silent protagonists. There he was hearing Crono saying something about a "Choice B." Alex seems a little confused, but assumes it's his own error. I'm hoping it's something to do with Ryan being a Vincent, but I'm disinclined to think that's the case... Answer was handed to us a little too easily, and Alex wants to believe it a little too strongly. Also, random_guy, I think that's explainable in the same way as all of the references to the Author and the fourth-wall breaks in the early days of the comic. Rule of Funny applies. |
