There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. So no you get some text of me bitching about it, yaaay! Also, go vote. Everyday I'm tumbl'n. "This bitch is makin' me all Paru..." ~Hang in There, Kogasa-san! | |

I like the idea that Wright couldn't do much more than cosmetic changes on top of Rock's inner core, and Rock, in rejecting Wright's creation, rejected part of himself. It explains a bit. |
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

I wonder what this inane deception he's talking about is. I do find it funny that the green Megaman is actually acting more like Megaman than Rock is right now. Give or take an odd way of talking. |

I think that when Megs compressed/supressed/tried to delete the "green" program Wright put in, he did the same to the aspects of himself that he associated as being similar to it- resulting in a new being without the optimistic aspects of Megaman. As for the deception, it's pretty clearly the fact that Wright was pretending to be Light during the Mother Brain war- Green was probably put in there so that Megs wouldn't clue anyone in to the differences. |

Well it makes sense doesn't it. I know that Rock was the Japanese name of Megaman but I always thought that Capcom explained it away as Rock being the lab assistant bot he started as and Megaman being the combat bot version. By choosing to go by Rock again he's rejecting the more heroic "FIGHT FOR EVERLASTING JUSTICE". I'm really sorry if the following is wall of text...I tried. I mean I know what I'm about to say sounds kind of stupid but in a strange way it makes sense....well kind of in a way. Rock and Roll were both lab assistant and cleaning robots while Megaman was a fighter for justice. As Megaman, he is by nature idealism the idealistic robot who believes that the next battle, that battle can be the battle to end all battles. No matter what battle is next he believes it's what will lead to true everlasting peace. This means perhaps this comic can explain why he is on edge around 7-8. The last 7-8 games of constantly of not just saving the world but against the same guy goes against his programmings belief that it should've ended long ago, hence why he tried to kill Wily believing it could end things but found out he couldn't due to programming. But as long as he refers to himself as Megaman he's accepting the idealistic part of his programming. I mean when he first became a fighting robot it was suppose to be a one time thing. Perhaps Rock and Roll as cleaning and assistant robots are different in a sense. While the Megaman aspect of Rock sees the world as black and white believing the world can be saved for good. Rock andRoll may see a different way of the world they may see it more according to their job. A lab assistant and a cleaner don't see their job as vanquishing evil (well they could I mean a lab assistant trying to cure cancer), but mostly they see it as solving a problem but they know deep down their work is never done. The place will get dirty again, a new disease or technology hurdle will exist for humanity. They know their job is to solve an immediate problem not an everlasting solution. Perhaps by choosing the name Rock, he is rejecting all the idealism he use to have, and instead of being a great fighter for justice he aligns now more with a police officer. Someone who knows that there are no final battles, you merely solve the problems immediately in front of you but no matter how much you wished they stopped they won't. Granted it might also have to do with Rock being part human (or is it the green megaman that's part human technically). Also the reason the Green Megaman is more "Megaman" like may be because he lacks a choice at all. Megaman started as Rock and became Megaman, Green Megaman seems to have been made as an aspect SOLELY to battle for the Princess, a completely different personality entirely. So while Rock has both the Rock and Megaman aspect to choose from and balance himself, Wright might've made the Green Megaman a merely flanderized idealist who has no sense of the big picture. Sorry for long statement especially if you guys found it incredibly stupid. |

I didn't think it was stupid. I would have used the word 'exaggerated' rather than 'flanderized,' as it was a programmer doing it to a robot person in one fell swoop, not a team of writers gradually making a character more like themself. However, your point was clear enough to understand, and broken into paragraphs. |

My vote is that Greeny is basically a shell program. An A.I. "Skin". In sealing away "him", Rock has effectively sealed away the portions of his own personality which were directly associated with the shell program, resulting in a darker and edgier Rock, and Greeny being the result of the A.I. equivalent of a "Disassociate Personality Disorder" a la Twoface. ...or that old black and white film, "The three faces of Eve". In the end, neither Greeny or Rock is the real Rockman/Megaman. Only once the two recombine and the "Shell" is removed will the real "Man" be seen. |

Sounds about right. Green Megaman was pretty much a superficial covering for Megaman. I mean other than a few added gadgets, speech pattern, and look, he was pretty much the exact same guy, and the gadgets can easily be explained away as powerups. |

And the recognition of Wright as his creator rather than Light. Aside from the speech pattern, I think that creator-association was the primary function of the shell program- Rock just associated many of his OWN traits with it. |
