Man, I totally didn't get that Daos was lying. ...and now I'm suddenly realizing that the quality of the next page relies on my (or, well, someone else's, but I'm the one who's done anything so far) ability to sprite beams clashing. OGODTHEPRESSURE |

Maybe not touched. It could just be omega energy, or something. Don't most spells usually have purple text? Also, is Alex still at full power from the Sweardown at Sailor Street? Either way, this is gonna be good... |

What gets me is that The Sinistrals didn't revert to their normal Battle forms, staying their map screen sprites. Could Alex have more control over reality than he thinks or is this something to do wit the Soverign? |

It's possible, but if that was the case, wouldn't they have already expected it due to their fight with the Scouts? |

That background doesn't even remind me of any games. But I'm not read up on every one, if you know where some part of it is from that could be a clue. |
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

Reminds me of the background where the Sinistrals met the Soverign. |

Well, we already know that the Gamemaster's expectations shape the world, and he was in one kind of combat with the Sinistrals already, so why should they change shape just to enter another kind of combat? |

2 things kinda disappointed me. 1) Random combat background not from any particular game. I was thinking that combat would be done Lufia Style or maybe Final Fantasy style at least. There's no status/command screen at all. 2) The sinestrals didn't transform. I was SO waiting for that. Yes, getting killed doesn't matter either way, but still...I even know the real reason for doing it. Convenience. The sinestrals have a full frontal combat sprite which makes it hard to shoot a beam from the side. Furthermore, the battle sprites would be too big to hit with the super scope unless the beam REALLY got bigger. Though he could take a nice big chunk of sinestral off...enough to kill them at least. |

Actually, the lack of menus, ATB Gauges/Turn Meters and separate combat sprites all probably are indicative of a non-RPG battle. |

Definitely not an RPG battle, which I believe is an important detail, not laziness on JD's part. |

Maybe its because Alex initiated the battle, and he isn't native to an RPG, so it kinda broke things and they're seeing Truth of some form or another, some significant underlying reality or gap between (nexus of warp zones, perhaps)? |
