I think it's a joke, either based on the lack of general personality, or that like Worf, he gets tossed around a lot to show up awesome everyone is.

It took me a bit to get it.  That formula that comes up is like the damage numbers that come up with you hit something in an RPG.  Instead of having 1000 come up because Megaman took 1000 hit points off him, that formula came up.

But that seems arbitrary, and unprecedented. There's a tradition behind cartoon characters falling into pits after looking down (as explained by Elmer Fudd in the Tiny Toons episode where Babs goes to Wackyland), or running into tunnels made by paint (as explained by Bonkers to Detective Piquel, when they both needed to do exactly that), but this was so personally confusing and deserves hours of philosophical debate and discussion.

It doesn't appear to have been said by Megaman, which means that Nexus/video game mechanics offered this formula. And a) no video game I have ever played has given the formula for kinesthetic energy, and b) it seems almost arbitrary that Nexus would have gotten the formula wrong, and c) Green megaman seemed to have only wanted Amon to feel the force based on the erroneous formula given by Nexus, despite the fact that d) the correct formula, with different values, could have pushed Amon as far as Green Megaman wanted him to go, which means that e) Nexus knew how much force Green Megaman wanted, provided the wrong formula to meet that need, and therefore, provided the wrong values in the wrong formula to fit the intended amount of kinesthetic energy. On the flip side, if Megaman said or his systems said the kinesthetic formula (as opposed to game mechanics), then I would wonder why Megaman or his systems would need to state it unless a) he is attempting to mimic how sprites/real-world-objects work (similar to how Gato mimics a battle sprite), which would make me wonder why he failed to get the formula right considering he is a robot, and just got done hugging Roll; or if b) the formula was just given arbitrarily. In any case, it seems as if Wright comedically manipulated an assumed convention that is not even conventional. It would be similar to Garfield taking a thought bubble from John while John is sleeping (with a giant Z in the center of it), and pulling it over his own head to sleep - it would be similar to that if no comic strip artist had ever created a thought bubble before. It would be comparable to an RPG character erasing the HP he has in battle from 25 to 25000 (using a large pencil) - it would comparable to that if no one had ever heard of HP or had ever seen an RPG battle. It doesn't make sense to me to create a new convention and then instantly manipulate the rules of that convention once it is introduced. I just hope it isn't an offhand thing, something that won't be explained later...

I'M JUST SAYING. THAT'S JUST MY OPINION.

Also, I'm lonely... :-(

In all these gags, someone gets something wrong because they don't know better and continue going, oblivious.

Megaman got it wrong, not Nexus. Nexus might have made it visible...

Wright got it right, and Mega believed him. Therefore, it changed.

And why explain sight gags, it would kill the joke.

Although, I wonder, if Wright got it wrong, than would the false 'reality' exert itself?
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

...you are taking this WAY, WAY too seriously.

Just relax. It's not important. It's a joke. If it comes back up it comes back up. But seriously... chill out.

What's not to get? Wright corrected Retro-Megaman, and as a result, the speed Amon travels at is recalculated and takes effect. As a gag effect, the effect is he shoots off into the distance breaking the sound barrier (and hurting Wright, which is always funny)

Infinite loops are also funny.

This seemed more dramatic than funny to me.
Dr. Wiley has surrendered. Mega Man has saved the planet from destruction. But will it last!!!

After everyone saw the Sweardown on Sailor Street instead of hearing Alex's actual tirade, I see no reason why they didn't actually see the formula Retro-Megaman calculated.

And he got it wrong because he's only human, you see. Hey, can we remember if Megaman became organic or "human" in the cartoon?

Slippage, however, was explained and elucidated upon after the fact. Maybe that's what will happen with this formula just appearing out of nowhere too.

I think it already WAS explained. Videoland operates on a rule of aesthetic, the running gag, the one-off joke. This was an example of that, where Megs tried to calculate Real World physics (being so near the desert) and miscalculated.
