And in 622, we go back to Kain and the Cat.

Oh no. Alex being able to exploit the plot contrivances in Videoland could be a very bad thing.

Wouldn't it be ironic if she proceeded to lie out of her ass rather than tell him the truth?

No, that would be stupid.

There's a difference.[/i]

Right now, in kind of a meta way, Alex's cynicism (and Cynicism) is his own greatest ally and worst enemy.

No, the irony is that its Irony teaching him how Videoland works. And the thing is, that seems to be how Videoland works. Irony. No, considering that they want to save Alex (despite the fact that they want to protect him by killing him), the best way for him to stay safe in between her and the other Inner Alex's plotting is for him to know what the hell is going on.

Also, I have come to a personal revelation in that there was another twist to Irony feeding Hatred to Bob: since Bob can now apparently only appear when Alex hates something, that puts another stumbling block in Alex learning anything. The Spanish is able to be worked around, there's several sprites that would be able to inter-translate for the two if Alex can stop being a dick long enough to earn their favor (yes, I know, hardly gonna happen). But now, Bob is hardly around long enough FOR Alex to make sense of shit.

She is not Irony. She is Alex's Cynicism, as represented by his cynicism about his former crush on Alanis.

If he shaped videoland, and cynicism is a big part of him, then that would explain why she knows. However, this is a convenient way to explain to Ryan why Alex can't be jailed.
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

I have a feeling the ironic twist will be she'll explain most of it but they get interrupted before some important fact.

Yes, that seems like a bit of a coincidence, that... doesn't it? ;)

He should say something akin to "There is no way I could POSSIBLY get out of here"...

Because I feel that is the same.

Well, we're here specifically for Alex to tell Ryan why he'll escape.

My prediction: As the Gamemaster, Alex is the main character of Videoland. In video games, the main character is only trapped in jail until the player figures out what to do next.

Ergo, with the way Videoland works, Alex cannot be detained indefinitely. Eventually, he'll be pushed along to his destiny, the final boss.

The timing of Cynicism is quite... appropriate. Alex now has 2 potential guides to Videoland. One who is as idealistic as the day is long yet Alex can't understand, and the other who is... well, the previous comic's title says it all. The questions at hand are:

  • How much of N-MegaMan's knowledge is current/applicable?
  • How much truth is Cynicism going to tell? Or withhold? Or twist?
Granted, Question 1 only becomes relevant if Alex gets a translator or a translation utility. Or if N-MegaMan suddenly becomes an expert mime ala RPG!Mario.
It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse.
