The purple text makes it look like she is using the Sovereign's power. Would that make this a hollow victory? |

I dunno, Magus was using purple text for his spells even before meeting Her... |

Only the "...I won't lose!" is sorrow-touched; the rest is just a spell being cast, I think. A spell that kinda sounds and looks like a phoenix. This comic does mark a very important milestone, though. It has been exactly 500 comics since Alex lost his pants. |

There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. So no you get some text of me bitching about it, yaaay! Also, go vote. Everyday I'm tumbl'n. "This bitch is makin' me all Paru..." ~Hang in There, Kogasa-san! | |

If it's the Final Fantasy Phoenix, then that probably means everyone else in the party will be revived from their KO status. Don't know if Lucca's earlier command would prevent it from working on Gato, however. |

Ooh. I hadn't thought of Phoenix, but with that incantation and what of the spell we can see, it makes by far the most sense. IV didn't have Phoenix, but the spell sprite looks like V's. If that's the version she used, it might just revive a single ally with full HP/MP. We're kinda off the map, though, so anything up to a full party heal is possible. |

It would still be the Sovereign's power because Lucca wouldn't know to summon Phoenix. It would be an enhancement to Lucca's fire magic. |

I agree that the power is likely Sovereign-Enhanced, but it also seems that Lucca seems to have control of herself now. (I mean, why would the Sovereign want to kill one of her servants? Unless EoD isn't a "true" servant.) Thus, whether the Sovereign needed to control her at this time is still a viable question. (Perhaps another weapon that the Sovereign wields that is giving her victim the illusion of control.) |
| It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse. | |

... I like the idea that when there is no hope there is nothing to lose by trying. |
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

It's a pretty awesome speech. As for Lucca being in control of herself, I see her as a Stage 1 Infected, like Rydia or Edward. Enhanced abilities, control of themselves... and aware of what has happened to them. Light is presumably also a Stage 1, though it's hard to see if he has enhanced abilities. |

Yeah, I'll bet that the next comic opens with the EOD mocking her for wasting her time with such low damage, only for it to be revealed as Phoenix Fire and revive everyone but Gato. |

if it is Phoenix, thben if it revived Frog, then EoD is, well, Alex's favorite word. And really, 500 comics and HOW many years Alex has been sans-pants? btw, EoD, provided he stays within normal RPG rules this time, should have 6,168 HP left, after the ass-kicking Lucca was handing him and then his somewhat heals by draining her HP. That is, IF my calculations are right. |
