Looks like it was a Phoenix summon effect. On another note, Scarmiglione/Milon is screwed. |

So the question is, how does Lucca have access to Phoenix? |

It's probably a Sorrow-based power, but one that kind of loopholes the 'hollow victory thing' seeing as it's not necessarily her power that decided/will decide the fight. |

Briefly going off of a scant few examples (Roy absorbing other powers in his world, Princess Suicide accessing Game Master powers), I wonder if people who are touched can actually access other game worlds entirely by tapping into that. Doing that means Lucca's "lost", though, right? [Edit] Then again, being defeated by Milon is dead-dead, while losing by going another route has an undetermined future. Mask in mind, Lucca makes a career out of changing the future. |

Heh. The little backstory was a nice surprise. ... For some reason, it brings the cards in Advance's database to mind, a little. Would like to see more character profiles completed in there someday. EDIT: Hope I don't sound demanding. Just thought they were a cool bonus. And nice to see Frog, Palom and Porom on their feet for the first time in years. ^__^ |

My thoughts! What just happened here? A deus ex machina and... a whited out picture of Big Guy. I guess that fits. But what's with the custom angel sprits. At least I think they're custom. And the 8 bit White Mage. I'm seriously confused. |

The angels are part of the animations for the Life spell in FFIV. |

Lucca has enhanced fire magic thanks to being touched. Much like Rydia can now summon Fiends, and how Edward's Charm magic was enhanced. I wonder if that means she can throw fireballs without a fireflower. This comic was hilarious. |

Deus Ex Machina? No. Lucca's spell reviving them fits the mechanics for Phoenix spells. The angel sprites come from Final Fantasy IV Life spells, and I'm guessing the White Mage was the first one to devise Life spells, putting Lif in his current position. |

Alternatively, she has nothing to do with anything, and Lif's just going off on a tangent. |

The only thing that bugs me about this comic is why Frog only has 376 HP while the Twins are at full strength. Doesn't Phoenix restore a percentage of HP? Or is it one of those "Healing is affected by Caster's Will" things? (Note: The Department of Truth may remove the above if the appropriate corrections occur in-comic.) And the first thing I thought of when I saw the Life Angel was GreenDream, or whatever relic that auto-casts ReRaise in CT. Except that the Relic spot is taken by the SightScope. Meh... |
| It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse. | |

They all received roughly the same amount of health (maybe it's a third of the summoner's HP). The twins just have so much less HP. |

who cares? Frog's back in the game, and that's all that really matters. And hey, White Mage twin can revive Lucca now... wait. Isn't GATO in the party too? Oh dear. That would be very bad. But then again, Lucca just told him to die and STAY dead, I guess until otherwise stated. I almost wish the twins had access to the Twin Magic they have in the DS version of FFIV. But hey, Frog! He's back, wielding EoD's bane! |
