I wonder if that counts as a summoning spell in Final fantasy world. |

The Eater of Dreams now sits at a paltry 1119. So, if things continue as they have been: Porom will keep all three alive, Palom will negate what Living Nightmare sucks away, and Frog will go in for the kill next round. If EoD has another handy move to throw out, it's do-or-die time. ... Related question: were 'parting attacks' a thing in RPGs by Final Fantasy IV's time? I can't remember, and we might see one here. Granted, with the Sovereign involved, it may not matter. In any case, I thought he'd use Frog Squash, but it's still so satisfying to see. ^_^ Also, nice banter. Interesting reactions to Living Nightmare from the twins, too... I hope it doesn't have a chance of inflicting the Depression status like Spoony's Voice of Sorrow. |

Maybe not, no number came up on HP restored in that attack. If he didn't actually gain HP from that attack then he's at 54 HP. On a side note, that is why you never want to use a move that will leave Frog with 1 HP when fighting him. Frog Squash is deadly at that level. |

Ah. I'd noticed that, but I thought it was a minor artist's mistake. But nope: (almost) same name, different animation and effect. (single-target vs. multi-target) >_< D'oh. So yeah, the Eater of Dreams is at double-digits, alright. And agreed on Frog Squash. Heh. Just remembered why it's so satisfying to see: it's just like teaching that lesson to a Hallation-happy Queen Zeal. EDIT: (almost) same name |

...You know, now that the end of this fight (seemingly) nears its conclusion, I can't help but wonder how much experience EoD would give Frog and the twins if they win... Probably enough to put the twins in the 50's in terms of level. |

I think that only applies if the enemy in question isn't defeated. I mean Edward got experience in that scripted fight where he saw Anna. EDIT: Maybe I should be more specific. I think that the only sort of scripted fight that denies experience and money are battles where someone joins the party. I'm guessing that the mechanics of that fight were based on how Gau and his leap works in Final Fantasy VI. Scripted fights are kind of selective like that, since in Final Fantasy IV, there's a part where Edward fights an enemy by himself, in which Anna's spirit speaks to him to help him move on and to improve himself. Experience and money is obtained from that fight, so I would think that if EoD is at least defeated here that they'll get experience. Money I'm not so sure about though. EDIT EDIT: And now that I think about it, doesn't EoD have even less than 54 HP left due to the Sap/Seizure effect that Virus inflicts? So this Frog Squash might have very well finished EoD off. |

My favorite part is Palom and Porom's eyes in the last panel. |

Ooh, I'd forgotten the possibility of Virus poisoning. It's possible the Frog Squash might have done it, aye. I'm also suggesting that the Eater of Dreams might get off one last arrogant remark... before dying from poison. Or... EoD: "More than expected, I freely grant you. But I remain far more than you worms can begin to oppose!" *EoD's HP falls to single-digits* *beat panel* EoD: "NEVERTHELESS!!" |

ow. Getting flattened by a giant frog, I imagine that is NOT fun. So this will be, maybe one Fiend down, three to go? Unless Gato Air took out, uh, the Airhead? And Kainazzo is trapped in a box I think, so that leaves Rubicant. |

Crono killed Valvalis. In CT style. In midair. Which also prompted Rydia to want to kill Crono. |

"Speaking of being terrible at games, Red fumbling with the blocks in Magnet Man's level has to be seen to be believed. If the definition of insanity has to do with expecting different results upon trying the same thing, then he must be one of the most insane people I've ever known." - Brickroad The Guardian Legend - By Red Silvers (VLP): Our Red Silvers continues to find the weirdest worksafe pictures of the game's protagonist, a plane that transforms into a waifu. Super Metroid - By Red Silvers (VLP): I think it's safe to say at this point, that Samus ain't leaving her suit once Red Silvers finally gets around the finishing this game. Fantastic Dizzy - By Red Silvers (VLP): Fresh off his recent run of Super Metroid, Red Silvers tackles yet another, err... classic? ... Wondering if Rydia is watching this. If EoD even counts as her summoned creature, or if by unleashing his Touched power, he has broken free of her control. |

Urgh. I know it's authentic to the SNES, but as a guy who first played IV on the GBA, that name still just seems wrong. |
