Finally! I make my appearance in the comic!

I'm just under the condition of an Imp Spell. :D
I may not be the best, I may not be the most, but I am the FIRST!

Imp spell wasn't a FF4 spell. Then again, Kappa wasn't in FF4 either. Maybe this is finally the start of the FF6 storyline.

Anyway, to answer your question about Kappa he can do ... pretty much nothing. He gave tutorials. The character section on the site lists him as being almost as strong and fast as a normal human (which for imps is outstanding.)

Wasn't Kappa killed? By Palom?

A nice one. ^__^ An unforeseen wrinkle that made me say, "Ohhhh," an amusing deadpan reaction from Cecil, and hey, Spoony getting badly injured is always good for a laugh.

And that's you, is it, Tuxedo? Well, knowing the members of this forum, you're likely genre-savvy enough to be decked out in Imp equipment. Appropriate, given Spoony's agony: it's joke character meets lethal joke character.

Aaaaaaaaaand, now we finally know what was in that chest. Though it wasn't quite what anyone was expecting, it appeared in the comedic manner we knew it would. Poor Edward, I don't care who you are, getting jumped unexpectedly by an Imp would probably hurt anyone.

Kappa... Hm.

Would Imping Cecil allow Edward to hit him?

Interesting thought, MFD. According to a trustworthy FAQ, FF VI's Imp status (assuming the casting doesn't 'reveal' that FF IV has its own Imp status, or say, default to one of its other transformation statuses) means...

"Imps benefit from the Defense and Battle Power of the following pieces of
equipment: Imp Halberd, TortoiseShld, Titanium, Imp's Armor. Imps do not benefit
from the Defense and Battle Power of all other pieces of equipment, including
Fists. 1 is added to both Defense and Battle Power instead."

I don't know enough about FF IV's battle system to say for sure, but I'm guessing the loss of Cecil's armor would do the trick. :/ And since Kappa seems grateful enough to Spoony for freeing him... Might not go well for the paladin.

I'm betting that our next comic will reference how Kappa got into the chest in the first place. With any luck it'll also reference how he escaped the fate that befell Eater of Dreams.

Or... did he escape it?
It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse.

I'm betting that our next comic will reference how Kappa got into the chest in the first place.

It it quite typical of me that the first thing that went through my head was "Gotta love +88% evade." The next thing to go through it will probably be a bullet.

As for how he didn't get killed by HP leak, I'm guessing there were some potions in there. I don't think FF4's HP leak lasts forever, so if he had enough he could just wait it out.
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die. <- This form appears through the Old man glitch if y is the character in the third, fifth, or seventh slot of the player's chosen name.

The HP dropping from Virus only happens during battle. Once the fight is over, it doesn't drop anymore.

I thought the reason Spoony didn't have any phoenix downs with him was that he was only strong enough to carry one item (the Prozak).

Yeah pretty much Cy. But that doesn't mean the imp doesn't have it.

Nonono, I'm referring to Spoony's note-to-self. He had a perfectly understandable reason for not having a phoenix down earlier!

if Kappa has te equipment, then trouble will be had for someone, because that stuff was scarily strong on Imps. If I remember right, I typically just Imped Gau during my first few playthroughs of FFVI and had him do some mega damage.

Well, we know it won't do that, Megaman is in Nexus.

But given what Advance's database has to say about him, I doubt Kappa will be a martial threat directly. Status, maybe, or in some way changing the status quo of that fight- but not in direct damage dealing terms.
