That looks about right. I wonder if Omega Energy is what helped the Gamemaster win? Kevin used it subconsciously to shape Videoland the way he thought it should be. And using it, Mother Brain can shape Videoland the way she thinks it should be. |

Soooo... it seems quite likely that Mother Brain doomed videoland as everybody knew it. |

Hm, so Omega Energy comes from a Game master, if not people from the real world in general. Veeeeery interesting. Have we learned the origins of Alpha Energy? Megaman tried to access the power of the Warp Zone of Life before Greenie denied him (for... reasons that still aren't clear), and Greenie brought a 'reawakening of that ancient power' (Alpha Energy) when he reappeared, and the Warp Zone of Life was once a place of great power, but its energy and life are gone. Do we have anything more explicit tying Alpha Energy to the Warp Zone of Life? You might be right, MFD. For the same reasons, Alex probably has Omega Energy of his own, and channeling it seems to be how he killed Daos and Gades. As another possibility, maybe Omega Energy is the energy of the real world and introduces more meaningful complications/complexity. Before, perhaps governed by Alpha Energy, Videoland might have operated on a very strict narrative structure: Mother Brain and the villains were just bad and always lost, Captain N and the heroes were just good and always won. Period. The introduction of Omega Energy added wrinkles to the situation: it was suddenly possible the villains could actually pull off a meaningful win, and it was suddenly possible the heroes could do something morally questionable (like killing someone as she begs for mercy). Not perfect and highly speculative, but... |

This would also be before Simone sent Kevin to the Mirror World. So, that could be a result of Omega Energy, if it's the introduction of complicated real world emotions. |

Okay, villain rolecall ... Mother Brain (Metroid) Eggplant Wizard (Kind Icarus) King Hippo (Punch-out) Dragonlord (Dragon Warrior) The Sherriff of Nottingham(?) (Robin Hood Prince of Thieves) Dr. Wily (Megaman) Nurse Edna (Maniac Mansion) Dark Queen (Battletoads) Horsehead (Zelda 2) Garland (Final Fantasy) The Count (not Castlevania) Boba Fett (One of the Star Wars games, not sure which) Zoda (Star Tropics) Williams (Double Dragon) the skeleton and the red cloak guy I don't know. I'm also amused by the fact that the Shadow Warriors sent Williams, the weakest least important guy they have as their representative.) |

We all must remember that Max Force (according to Wiley), as well, has Omega Energy supposedly emanating from him - though not as much as Alex. That being the case, and assuming Omega Energy is this ability to change things to fit your presumptions about reality, wouldn't the world befit Max's current understanding of reality more? Because it doesn't seem to. |

I think Omega and Alpha energy has more to do with emotion, something people from the real world like Alex has in spades. Omega being negative emotion such as regret, rage and sorrow. Likewise, Alpha energy is powered by positive emotions like joy and hope. it explains why most sprites don't have either, they're characters of a game. Most weren't written in enough depth for them to have real emotions, their personalities are based on who they are meant to be with some influence from the Gamemaster(s) to fill in the blanks. |

I'm wondering if the Omega energy has anything to do with him being on the old Power Team. Do Qwirk the radical tomato and Johnny Arcade have Omega Energy? Or maybe it has something to do with being a cartoon character as well as a game character. ... which means that MARIO may have Omega energy. |

Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

So we're, well, counting The Count as a villain? |

The cloak guy is Carock, one of the temple bosses from Zelda II. He was more or less a throwaway I added to beef up the pack a bit. The Skeleton on the other hand... that's Tom Guycott from Clash at Demonhead . One of my personal favorite games from the NES, and not just because it has a chick in a bikini at the beginning. |

I could never get very far in Clash at Demonhead so that explains that. Carock! I KNEW that guy looked familiar! I will say I'm disappointed by your lack of Master-D (who is totally not Hitler by the way) from Bionic Commando. |

Mother Brain may be evil, but she's not that Evil. Geez. Besides, I think Master D is regenerating his exploded body part. In another dimension. |

you know, IO laugh at Mother Brain's dismissal of Duke. Because as we all know, sidekick animals are just as dangerous as, if not more dangerous than, the heroes themselves. |

You know...they've remade and rereleased so many original NES and SNES games, why have they not redone Clash at Demonhead? That game was so good and I've seen a lot of people that would eat it up!
I think the respective energy names actually tell a good amount of the story. If you look at the response to Mega's Alpha energy wave, it is like everyone goes back to the good ol' days. Heroes are heroes and villains are villains, just because. There is no "brooding backstory", it's just straight up heroism and villainy because both sides enjoy doing it. Omega, while it does bring out a lot of negative emotions, also seems to have more of a "realistic" and philosophical approach to the world. The SoS doesn't like being the bad guy and ending Videoland, but feels that it is the role that she has to play and will play it for everyone to see. This sort of difference, although definitely encompassing most of the emotions you list above, strikes me more as the way a child would look at the world vs. how an adult does. Not in all cases, but more often than not. This does make me think back to Alex's "inner evils" and the role they have to play. Have we seen any sort of signs as to what their energy type is? If they truly are a part of Alex, then they shouldn't be as corruptible with various energies as most sprites seem to be. |
