Welp. This can't be good. I wonder what's so dangerous about Golbez's Id. Without Zemus's mind-control, Golbez isn't all that bad of a person. Resentful, brooding, and guilt-ridden, yes, but not actually evil. That was mostly Zemus. Or is the big ol' door holding back remnants of Zemus's power or something? Or, what if Golbez is Touched somehow, and Fusoya sealed it off? |

I'm just hoping Eggplant Wizard gets hit with a giant hammer with the FuSoYa message saying: "I told you not to not to open it!" |

Well something turned Golbez into the semi-idiot he is now. My guess is that FuSoYa did something to him between the end of FFIV and when we first saw him in the webcomic.
Zemus brings out the inner most desires/darkness of someone, removes their inhibitions, and lets them act out on it. ie: Kain and Golbez It brought out the absolute worst in them. |

Ah right. Fun fact, the DS version reveals that he tried it again on Kain as they descended into the moon, this time tryin' to make his jealousy turn into hatred towards Rosa. It failed miserably What I find odd is that the Id is supposed to be what makes us seek base pleasure. If Golbez's Id is sealed off, as Eggy assumes, then why is he still trying to do things with Samus? |

I recall a specific scene in FFIV in which FuSoYa breaks Zemus' control over Golbez. That's the only example from the game I know about of FuSoYa's direct influence over Golbez's mind, so perhaps the thing behind the door could be something that influenced Golbez to bend to Zemus' will. I don't have any idea what that could be, though. All I can say is, if it turns out to be the kind of thing Eggplant Wizard wants to find, I'll be pretty annoyed, because it's really, really irritating to see Eggplant Wizard be successful. Ever. |

But would it even have any power over him? Zeromus's Malice notwithstanding (as FFIV's world has clearly gone far enough off the rails that The After Years won't happen as scripted, if it ever does), Zemus is kinda gone. At least, gone enough that he won't be exerting any control over Golbez right now. |

You know, I knew Eggplant Wizard was a moron. I didn't think he was this stupid though. |

Enlong, I think that you're forgetting that... Eggplant Wizard is an idiot. (Ninja'd by Pata H.!) What Eggy assumes is Golbez's Superego is actually Golbez's memory (or projection or some such) of KluYa. This is why Golbez can have naughty thoughts about Samus. His freudian sides are still in tact. Or are they? (i.e.... is it really Golbez's superego that's sealed off... Not likely.) What does that mean for what's behind FuSoYa's mental blockade, though? Realistically, it could keep back the heinous acts themselves... which could lead to Golbez either becoming a power-mad dictator again or a sniveling mass of tears, either way works. Or it could be an ancient power; locked within Golbez's mind before he was controlled by Zemus. Or it could be the knowledge of the location of the Sovereign's body. (Which could mean that Samus might soon be safe...) Or could it be the secret behind MonkeySpank? (Which means that this gambit wasn't a joke at all!) |
| It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse. | |

But we've seen the heinous acts within his mind. It's represented by a graveyard marking all the innocents whose deaths he's responsible for. |

Guys. Golbez's Id is probably behind the big red door. In the form of Zeromus. I imagine one could argue that Zeromus isn't Zemus's Hatred so much as Zemus's Id. Or that Id and Hatred are both the same thing. I'm not expecting a twist from that direction. |

I like how Blue Dragon's expression in the bottom right corner makes her look she doesn't know what the fuck she's doing there. Also, are we going to get a flashback of Golbez's childhood? It'd be interesting to see how he met her. |

Now I'm wondering if there are any raps about vegetables Gomez can sing. Maybe something by Weird Al. |

The only thing that comes to mind is "Addicted to Spuds", and that's not a rap... |

I was wondering the same thing myself. He also seems to have met The Loneliest Boy Ever at some point... as well as Namingway (well, I guess he is from the moon and all, but they never interacted in-game from what I recall). These all seem like they could make for some potentially interesting events. |
