If you had to choose one character to make the transition to full-time cast team member who would it be: 1. Bobby Magum 2. Randy Judd 3. Mack Wade 4. Albert Hodges 5. Raymond Collins 6. Bobby Simpson PS...I'm not including Thomas from Mainstream.... Analysis of each one, both as player and as cast member: Collins- forget it. Player-would have been a gay blond version of Gomez, no skills. Cast member-would not have fit in AT ALL, too uptown to hang with the dudes, would have been a target along with Goldstein. Hodges- no game as a player, too much of a chip on his shoulder. Reeves would eventually pound him into pizza dough for crying "black thing" too many times. Judd- as a player, would have pushed Thorpe and made him even better. Too nice and too green to be a regular member of the team. Simpson (and I think you mean Jeff)- get him a hearing aid and he would have probably pushed Jackson or Reese out of a starting forward job. Would have eventually fit in and gotten down with the crew. Magum- definitely would have made an awesome three-guard tandem with Thorpe and Hayward whenever the team wanted to go small. Would have made Cool and all the forwards even better. Would have cut into Salami's PT and made Gomez non-existent. Probably the best fit as a cast member. Wade- as a player, OMG, where to begin? Skills at EVERY position. Twin-towers thing with Cool, creates all kinds of matchup problems at forward and guard, could play the two or even the one. Point-forward to free Thorpe and Hayward to cut, screen and shoot...MAN! Would have trouble fitting in at first, but would fit in good for a white boy. I would have went with Bobby Magum and Albert Hodges. Magum for basically for the same reasons you provided. Hodges because he was from around the way and friends with the guys. Plus, I think he did have some skills on the court being he was already on the team before he went away. He didn't look to good in the try out and practice sessions but, I think even The Coach chalked that up to rustiness. I believe once he got back in the swing of things and got past his animosities he would have fit in great!
