Class of 1984 - (1982)

This is one of my personal favs. It's cautionary tale of high school will be like if the crime and violence progresses. I'd been a fan of Tim Van Patten's acting in this movie long before I ever heard of TWS. He was brilliant as gang leader Peter Stegman.

It's a pretty violent flick but the acting and story are top notch. Roddy McDowell, Perry King, and Michael J. Fox join Van Patten in outstanding performances.

Andy is a new teacher and an inner city high school that is like nothing he has ever seen before. The students have to go through a metal detector when they go through the front door and everything is basically run by a tough kid named Peter Stegman. Soon, Andy and Stegman become enemies and Stegman will stop at nothing to protect his turf and drug dealing business.
