I first watched THE WHITE SHADOW in its initial syndication run when I was a teen. I was instantly taken by the unique format of the show, with its well-thought out characters and complex story lines that foreshadowed the multi-narratives of HILL STREET BLUES and ST. ELSEWHERE. However, the main appeal of the program was the camaraderie between the characters. The players' friendships seemed real and their chemistry with Ken Howard was unlike anything I had previously seen in TV drama. But my favorite scenes were often the "connecting" sequences which just portrayed the team hanging out.

This site is a nice resource for the show. Glad I found it. Would like to see us organize a letter to Fox to get Season 3 out on DVD.

I agree! That would be a great idea! It seems illogical that they have the whole documentary finished for Season 3, and they just decide to shelve the whole project.
