San Francisco Chronicle:  St. Elizabeth-Oakland has hired former Stanford player Wolfe Perry as its boys basketball coach. Perry, who was the coach at John Swett-Crockett the last two seasons, played for two years at St. Elizabeth before transferring to Oakland Tech for his final two seasons. He led Tech to the Tournament of Champions title in his junior season. Perry was drafted in the fifth round by the Utah Jazz out of Stanford, but did not play an NBA game. Perry went on to a TV career that included the role of Teddy Rutherford on the "The White Shadow," a popular drama about an inner-city high school basketball team.
