HI Lisa I am glad you have found us as I didn't have your contact details and neither did Mad Rat still at least you have found us I gathered all my boots up this morning and polished them. One pair needs to go to the cobblers and have tips put on the front part (toes) as they have worn down quite allot. I noticed in todays Daily Mail that Kiwi the makers of shoe polish have said that their sales have gone up by a quarter - I am not surprised really as I have always said if you look after your shoes they should last you for years. I keep mine clean and polished and when I need to get them reheeled/resoled. They also keep getting better as they get older as well more comfy I don't think people have got the money to go out and buy new shoes like they used to, so keeping them clean and polished this way is helping to stop spending.I have been looking for my black pair of leather gloves. I bought them years ago from M&S (it still has the old St Michael tag inside), anyway, I scoured the car, checked in all the pockets of the coats and in the end got the loft ladder down and went up there. Some weeks ago I put some bags up there that I was not using and lo and behold there they were. They had a slight white bloom on them, so I brought them down and fed them with leather cream. I also did the same with some brown leather gloves that I bought from Next in the sale years back now and I got my leather black jacket out which is sixteen years old - I know - and that was M&S as well. They have all been well and truly 'fed'. I just like to look after my stuff and not trash it and keep on buying, that way I am getting my maximum amount of moneys worth out of it.Been raining her pretty much all day, cold and miserable it is too on the jobs front it is dire If there is one thing that will come out of this recession - as we are now in one big time - is that people will hopefully look after more what they have instead of keeping on throwing things away. Oh it makes me cross, if you can mend it, do it thats my mantra.

I'm feeling pretty rough today. Woke in the night with a sore throat, which was still there this morning, plus a headache. Now I am starting to feel that achy feeling. I don't want another cold, especially not this week..... .....it's my last week before I go back to work next Monday. I just can't quite believe that 11 months since I went on maternity leave has gone already. It seemed like I had soooooo long off. I am not looking forward to it. Belle has been to the nursery today for a settling in session. I went down to the new 'big' tesco which opened this week near us for the hour while she was there. She seemed to get on ok. Apparantly she cried a couple of times but only because a couple of the other babies who were a bit older were a bit too much for her. I think a couple of them are due to move to the next age-group room soon anyway. That's the thing which is eating me up is thinking about the fact I will be leaving Belle for a couple of days a week there. |

Nothing worse than being in close proximity to someone who has hallitosis bleugh. Nat, you are right it has gone quickly but Belle will settle into a routine, give it a month and get over the worst - for both of you and you will be alright. It won't stop you from worrying of course, because you always will, but you will feel a little more relaxed once you have that month under your belt. I am worried though how YOU are going to cope that first couple of weeks because you are going to be quite sensitive and the days will feel like an age I know SW I am pretty useless when it comes to phones but I have also worked out the internet on it, I bet I am only using one eigth of what that phone is capable of

Well I am quite likely to be a mess on Monday morning. Steve is working from home so he will be able to come with me to take her in and drop me off at work. It will be a help. I have been in tears a few times over the past week as it is, thinking about leaving her. I am just going to miss her so much and also it's the thought of other people, who are essentially strangers, looking after her. Of course I know she will be fine and she will learn stuff and do activities I won't do with her but it's still a heart wrench. Ooooh, I think I smell 'eau de nappy', lovely. Better go......wipes at the ready! |

Thanks Sue, I know she will be fine! She'll have fun. And nice food. I have the menu, which they do a 3 week rota and on Monday she will be having Thai Chicken Curry!!!! There will be me with my boring sandwich and she will be having all this exotic food! Last 'day' tomorrow and Steve is off aswell so we are hopefully going to go out somewhere for the day, might just be somewhere local. It has been GORGEOUS today. Mr Sunshine has well and truely got his hat on! I am so pleased to announce that I have hung my first load of washing out on the line since last year! HOORAY! I have been out and about with Belle. First we went to sainsburys and I bought some clothes as they have 25% off the clothing again. So stocked up on the next size sleepsuits and vests for Belle. Got a couple of tops for me, for work. Then we went to a park which is nearby, which has a big lake, and we had our lunch al fresco, watching the ducks! Was a bit muddy though! THEN we went to the new big Tesco Extra, and I collected something I had bought online and got delivered there. A walker thing for Belle. The other day I caught her on her feet pushing the washing basket across the floor - walking with it. So thought we should get her a proper walker toy. I used clubcard vouchers so didn't cost me anything. Got some socks for Steve... I know I know he really is spoilt! LOL! |
