He will be on it for the rest of his life. The thing is the vets picked this up six years ago when he had an x ray then but it was not advanced. They think he will be okay now and could go on for a couple of more plus years so they have told us not to worry He is really well and loved his walk this morning where previously he had been hating them

I hope so too JAD I got the lawns cut again this afternoon. The sun has been shining here since midday and it also meant three loads of washing got dry on the line as well Allot of the housework got put on hold this week as we were in such turmoil over Biff although I did get the bed stripped and I shall wash that tomorrow night now ready for pegging out on Sunday (the weather is better for then). Not long finished off vacuuming. The rest of the stuff like dusting can wait I am not stressing over that at all

Seems we sent that down to you guys - it was bitter all of last week and the windscreen needed scraping every morning, but we seem to have turned a corner now. It is still quite cold but the sun is strong today. Made a day trip to Newcastle for all sorts of things I needed - bargain of the day HAS to be my visit to the Elemis counter at Debenhams.........2 performance facials for the price of one (I had booked my for today but wasn't aware that I'd get another one free, bonus!) --- My colleague's 10yr old basset passed away a few days back - he suffered from epilepsy and his heart just couldn't take it anymore in the end. It was very peaceful by all accounts and they didn't have to make 'that' heartbreaking decision and trip to the vet, but she is understandably distraught :-( --- I'll miss Netto's, I just know I will - Yardley's English Rose EdT 50ml to clear down to £2.50...how do you want to beat that... |

I know what you mean about missing Netto's SW but I am sure that someone else will come along and step into the gap they will leave behind - I hope I don't mind it being cold and frosty as long as the sun comes out shining because that is the bonus I guess It does not make it any easier whatever age your pet passes away, they are part of the family and they are what makes you, integrally you. The scare we had with Biff on Tuesday has polarised that for me. For now he is doing he okay but the one thing I do know that if we do have to have him put to sleep we will pay the extra and ask the vet to come to our home and for Biff to go on his beloved bed in familiar surroundings with us all there in peace and quiet. We owe him that much after all the years of live and loyalty that he has given to us. I am hoping that we won't have to look at that for at least a couple of more years I got some washing done last night, mainly the bedding and I put it out on the line this morning which it is now blowing around in the breeze and the sun is making it's way through too Oh good grief - I LOVE facials

The Census form turned up today and I have to say I have big reservations about this one. It is being dealt with by an American Defence company called Lockheed Martin. What exactly defence companies are doing involving themselves with Census information is beyond me, but what I do know is that the information cannot be guaranteed as totally secure So that means all of our private and personal information is in their hands at their will. Remember the fiasco over 24 million details being lost in the Tax debacle for working tax credits? This makes me shudder! There seems to be a growing backlash against this form. In 2001 only 38 people out of 1.5 million were prosecuted for refusing to fill in the form. Those who did fill in the forms one put "one legged prostitute" in the occupation section and the surname "Quisling" cropped up allot as well. This census is costing some £458 million which is nearly double to what it cost in 2001. Not good at all. I think I might sleep inn a motorway cafe in my car on census night to get out of it

Thats the point though all of our information is being handed over to an American Defence company. It's what they are going to do with it that worries me It still remains in UK hands, but under The Patriot Act that the UK signed up to we have a duty to hand over this information to the USA. So although it is being dealt with by Lockheed working on behalf of the UK Government you have a real serious possibility of things going downright wrong somewhere along the line.
