well as everyone else was posting about were they live i thought i would aswell. i live in a small town called langholm just on the border of scotland and england (i live on the scottish side) langholm has less then 2500 people and we basically all know each other by name so we all say hi and have a bit of a chat to each other. all the houses are huge around here and are around 600 years old. the house i live in was build in like 1750 or something. housing is really expensive were i live but my granddad was lucky and bought the huge house that i live in before ww2 and it cost him in todays money around £1000 and had fishing rights (a big part of the town now and thats were i make most of my money from selling fishing rights off my land) there is around 4-5 acre of land which used to have a mill on it (we owned the mll but it got shut down and now there is a tesco there) the house i live in is a 6 bedroom 5 bathroom and 3 kitchen house (i still don't know why theres 3 kitchens) recently we had the house insulated and put double glazed windows in and it was all free (my dad is a contractor and got all the materials from his building site) , the house costs a fortune to heat but i only heat like 3 of the bedrooms one of the bathrooms and one of the kitchens (the other rooms are full of computers for my hosting company) i bet if i sold all my land and house i would make enought to move back to canada and get my family house back |
