"In this world, there are limitless criminals. Every man is born in sin - every man must choose his way. To accompany these limitless criminals are new ways for these criminals to carry out their trade..." The Law has crimes grouped into four major different sections, from petty crimes under Class C, for the Magistrate to deal with, to the most grievous of breaches of the Law under Class X, which fall to the Council to combat and to Judge. Class X These crimes demand immediate destruction of all involved perpetrators who have not already turned themselves in to the Adjudicators. Class X crimes include intent to commit or attempted genocide, intent or practice of mass destruction of property, intent or practice of assassination of a 1st Level individual, intent or practice the raid of a Justice base facility, amongst whatever the Council may judge serious enough to warrant their personal attentions. Class A Class A crimes generally fall to the Conciliators to deal with, and are of high enough priority to provoke an immediate and ruthless dealing, with the propagators being instantly arrested or eliminated upon failure to comply. Crimes falling under the classification of A include mass murder, attempt or intent to assasinate a 3rd or 2nd Level individual, mass arson, mass destruction of property, assaulting a Judge and mass theft amongst other things, which can be determined at the time of report. Class B Class B crimes can be undertaken by Watches accompanied by Arbiters or Conciliators, or any rank above this. Class B crimes include assault and battery, breaking and entering, burglary, murder, small-scale larceny, organised prostitution, fraud and kidnapping, aiding escaping of a suspect, amongst other things. Class B criminals are arrested if possible, with force permitted if non-compliance is apparent. Elimination of a Class B criminal is only permitted in cases where the criminal is intentionally and actively fighting against the action of the Judges in attendance, or where injury to others has become evident. Class C Class C crimes are under the governance of the less experienced Watches, as well as the Judges-in-training. Class C crimes are often notably petty, and include minor theft, prostitution, drug possession, distrobution and cultivation, indecent conduct, sexual assault and bribery. Arrest is the principle and preferred method of dealing with Class C criminals, with incapacitation used if wholly necessary. |
