The Doctrine of Crime & Punishment; Chapter VI of "A Judge's Handbook"

Just is the Law. Just is the Word. Just is the Judgment.
 *  *
"A Judge must be swift and correct in every action they make -
from the arrest to the Judgment, a Judge must show alacrity
and irrefutable knowledge of the Law..."

If a perpetrator is successfully arrested, depending on the crime, they should be brought before either the Adjudicators, the Council, or left to the discretion of the capturing Watch or other such squad. If a player character is captured, they must spend at least one in-context post in their respective gaol, and if not, their sentence is increased until they have suitably roleplayed this portion of their detention. Committing in-context crime and being arrested requires (reasonably) in-context recompense. Perpetrators will be PMed or informed in topic upon arrest of their detention sentence to be carried out in gaol.

Depending on the class of the crime, the responses are different, but there are bases from which Judges can issue their own standards of internment - if the crime is severe enough. NOTE: When it says x-day imprisonment, the number of days is how many posts you must make in that topic (usually alone sitting in jail) before your character is released. Each post will count for one day passing, and you can work towards your release all at once, or whenever you have the time to work your character out of jail.

Class C
1- or 2-day imprisonment, coupled with return of stolen goods, cost of repair of damaged property and a $25 to $75 fine.

Class B
2-, 3-, or 4-day imprisonment, coupled with return of stolen goods, cost of repair of damaged property, reimbursement of any other losses and a $100 to $500 fine. Death sentence permitted in extreme circumstances.

Class A
4- to 7-day imprisonment, coupled with return of stolen goods, cost of repair of damaged property, reimbursement of any other losses and an unlimited fine. Death sentence permitted in serious circumstances.

Class X
Unlimited imprisonment. Unlimited fine. Death sentence permitted.
