Memories of Time: The Dark Ages - A Medieval Role Play Welcome traveller to Tolemac! In the dark ages! Ohh~ Interesting. ANYWAY, WELCOME TO EXER'S BAD ATTEMPT AT AN RP. This is set in the Dark Ages, King Arthur, Merlin etc. or for those who have never read those stories, think Sonic and the Black Knight. This RP allows your characters to adapt to the setting, so you don't have to make up a character for this RP. Example: Elo is an Earth User and Bakery Delivery Boy, but I could adapt him to be the son of a blacksmith and he helps out in the blacksmiths. Anyway, we are starting it in an Inn, and it will develop from there. A large wooden Inn is situated outside the kingdom of Tolemac, in a small town called Turncam. It is heavily raining and a traveller with a cloak decides to enter the nearest Inn for the night, on entering the Inn he falls over flat on his face, he makes a "Urghhh" sound as he slowly gets to his feet. Another being soon followed the cloaked traveller, jumping over the fallen figure on his way in, and quickly closing the door behind them both. To say he was a golem would be a bit of a stretch, but would probably stand as an apt description for the being made from wood and old armour. A dummy would be a more apt description, created with the sole purpose of being hit around by knights in training. Why this one was apparently running around of its own accord was anyones guess. Devon just knew that he'd rather have people stop hitting him. |

He drew the arrrow back until the string vibrated in the rustling wind. He was standing by the forest edge on the very farthest point of the town limits. He aimed down his arm, past the arrow and the bow (which he had crafted by himself) to the target approximately fifty feet down range. Letting a slow breath out, he released the arrow. It flew straight and true, save for the slight wind. The tipped arrow plunged into the wooden target to the top right of the red painted bullseye.

He sat at a table farthest from the door, leaning back in his chair with a mug of ale in his hand. His face was shaded by the brim of his long pointed hat. Peering over his long scarf, the boy chuckled a little at the antics of the new arrivals, both the firsts falling and the seconds entire being. "Must be magic keeping that thing up," he muttered to himself, "What a coincidence." |

The person, or well, talking wolf that had fallen took off his cloak as he slumped onto the nearest seat which resided near a small bar in the inn. Today had been an awful day for the wolf; he had been recently robbed by thieves and as he placed his hand in his pockets he had very few coins left, probably only for a night in the inn, he needed a way to earn some money. The wolf whose name was Exer; he wore brown trousers with two black belts with petite empty bottles with small portions of powder in them, he was a trainee alchemist, well he would be if he found someone that would train him. He wore a light brown vest, it was sleeveless and there were silver ringlets on his arms. He wore no footwear. On his hands, feet and tail strange blueberry coloured markings could be seen but they appeared just to be apart of his fur. His eyes were also that blueberry colour. Exer sighed. He hoped today would get a tad brighter. Edited by Exer, Oct 26 2010, 04:40 PM.

Gata lowered his thick scarf from his mouth with one hand, and pressed the mug to his lips to take a sip. Immediatly, his face contorted into a look of disgust. "Ugh!" he muttered, peering into the cup. What on earth had they put in this anyway? That's what he got for choosing the cheapest drink on the menu. Gata looked from left to right, making sure no one was watching him too closely. Then, when he was pretty sure no one was paying attention, he dipped his finger into the drink. The liquid began to change color from it's natural sickly yellow to a dark green. When the concoction began to steam, Gata took another taste. "Perfect..." he sighed, "Just the way I like it. Minty." |

Exer turned round, he noticed that there sat a person with a large hat at the back of the bar bit of the inn. "YES, MY DAY IS LOOKING UP." Exer excitingly thought. Exer got up off his seat, quickly walked to the end table and decided to fall flat on his face again, one table away from the hat man. Sadly, this time there was also a cracking sound as one of his empty potion bottles decided to crack open, he would have to buy another one now... Exer had a frequent 'thing' about falling over air, he never quite knew why his legs would just trip on nothing. Exer had once read in a book about square invisible creatures which sole purpose in life was to randomly place themselves anywhere and everwhere to trip people up, Exer believed he naturally attracted them or the universe just hated him. Exer had now two options, stay on the floor, wishing someone would come along and help him up. Or on the otherhand, get up himself after falling over. Both of these would cause Exer to be embarrassed. Exer also remembered about his potion bottle breaking, sadly this day had not increased Exer's happiness levels one bit. |

Gata was startled by the rather loud thud when Exer fell, almost dropping his drink in the process. He leaned back in his chair to look at the wolf-boy on the floor in slight amusement. "Oh dear," he said. From the looks of things, Exer wasn't getting up anytime soon. Probably from embarrasment. Gata chuckled at the poor boy's misfortune. "Here," he said, bringing his free arm up to point in Exer's direction, "Let me help you up." Now, to anyone watching, it was blatantly obvious that with a full table between them, there was no way Exer could reach Gata's arm, much less use it to stand. However, a moment after Gata stopped talking, a wooden rod extended from the inside of his sleeve. The end of the staff extended across the length between the two, stopping just within Exer's reach, twice the length of Gata's sleeve. |

Exer's face slowly moved up from its position of staring at the wooden floor. Exer shuffled his arm and his hand grabbed the staff and pulled himself up. He quickly patted himself to remove the dust from his clothes. "Oh, thanks." Exer was truly embarrassed but then realised who had helped him, it was that wizard, or at least who Exer thought could be a wizard. "I had seen your large hat and thought, you may have been a wizard? BUT, oh it doesn't matter know anyway! Never mind, sorry I wasted your time even talking to you, I'm going to just go and leave you and be! Bye now, nice talking to you!" Exer extremely slowly shuffled back causing a great awkwardness, adding to Exer's embarrassment. Exer stopped, his foot had gone over a piece of glass from his broken empty potion, his foot was now bleeding. "YAAHPP" Exer screamed as his foot had a large piece of glass lodged into it. Could this day get any worse? Oh, wait. Yes it could. Exer had no more remaining healing jars. Edited by Exer, Oct 26 2010, 06:01 PM.

Gata tillted his head to the side, unsure of how to respond to the antics of this person. He had assumed correctly that Gata was a wizard of sorts, but it seemed odd to Gata that he would try to escape so quickly. Anyone who wanted an audience with a Wizard must have something they want. "Tsk," muttered Gata as he stood. The staff retreated back into his sleeve. His black boots cruched broken glass underfoot as he moved to Exer's side. "Take a seat, friend, I'll handle this," He pulled a chair up behind Exer, ramming the seat into the back of Exer's knees to force him to sit. "Now hold still. If I do this wrong, you could end up with 11 toes so hush" He made a flipping motion with his hand, like he was paddling water. After the third flip, a roll of medicinal tape and a small jar of ointment appeared in his palm. "Don't you worry. I can fix this up in a jif." |
