* Note: Hold Ctrl & click (or press the scroll wheel) on links to open them in a new tab while reading through the FAQ. Many of the Trial requirements are now outdated Guide Links Clan Rules Full Membership Application IRC Overview mIRC Setup SwiftKit Setup Ventrilo Guide Posting Images Example War Gear Activity points system / Member of the Month ![]() Q: What are the requirements to join Ck? A: Level 100+ combat Q: What is the war-gear screenshot required in the application? A: We require you to post a screenshot of your gear and inventory so that we can make sure you're bringing the correct setup to wars. You may also wish to use the screenshot as a reference when gearing up before wars to make sure you don't forget anything. You can find example pictures here: http://ck-rs.com/topic/8491758/. Q: Who is my mentor? A: Your mentor's name will be in the title of your application topic. If you were accepted on the RSOF (Runescape Forums) your mentor will instead be listed in your acceptance speech. Q: What is IRC and why are we required to use it? A: IRC (or Internet Relay Chat) is a form of real-time online communication. We require that you have either mIRC or SwiftKit installed and configured, so that you may easily access our IRC channel - #Ck. This is our main form of communication, and we recommend that you idle (stay online) in our channel whenever you can. Some useful commands you should try out are !site, !event, !points, and !wargear. Simply type these into the chat for an automated response. Click the hotlinks for more detailed information regarding IRC and the aforementioned programs. Q: Why do I get kicked from #Ck / Why can't I unban myself from #Ck? A: #Ck is a restricted channel, meaning that only people on the access list are allowed to enter. Your name must be registered in order to be added to the access list. You must also be identified (logged in) to join or unban yourself. You can identify by typing /ns id YourPassWord. Include the slash in front. Q: How do I complete my trial period? A: You must post a full membership application, which can be found here: http://ck-rs.com/topic/8491312/. To complete the application you're required to have a registered IRC nickname (see the previous question) and a ventrilo account. You must also have two warring event screenshots and at least 10 posts on our site. Q: Which events count for becoming a Full Member? A: Warring events only. This includes miniwars, interclan events, and war training events. Q: Where can I find a schedule of the events? A: The event will be updated daily on IRC. You can join #Ck and type !event to view the daily event. The weekly schedule is linked underneath the General information at the top of the site, and it is often linked when using the !event command on IRC. Q: What are Interclan events? A: Interclans are events where leaders pick teams and we war within our own clan. They can be some of the most fun events, but are also mandatory to attend if you're online due to the fact that having interclans with under 10v10 are pointless and annoying. They usually last 60-90 minutes depending on how the rounds go, and at 1-2 of these events per week it's really not much to ask that you attend. Q: Do we post pictures of every event that we attend? A: No. Attendance is taken by council+ members at every event. You're only required to post the 2 warring event screenshots as previously stated. Q: How do I post a picture? A: Refer to this guide - http://ck-rs.com/topic/8491796/ Q: Can I come to wars if I'm a trial member? A: Yes. You will earn attendance points for coming to all wars, however you should be aware that it's unlikely that you will be chosen to war for ranked 10v10 wars. Q: How do I join the Miniwar team? A: Everybody who shows up will get a chance to war at most fun wars. The ranked team will be made up of our best warrers in attendance; you will likely know in advance if that includes you. Q: How active must I be to stay in Ck? A: Your goal should be to attend at least 2 events per week. Only 10 activity points are required per month to stay in the clan (council members tend to get upwards of 35-40 points per month, so it's not extremely difficult). You can read about the points system here: http://ck-rs.com/topic/8489238/1/. You can view the points spreadsheet by clicking on "MoTM point standings" in the links forum, or by typing !points in #Ck. Members should also try to idle (be online) in our IRC channel #Ck whenever their computer is online. Members who have not entered the channel for 2 weeks will be moved to inactive, and after a month they will be swept. Period. There is no reason this additional requirement should be a problem for anybody, and it will be enforced. Not to mention this is where the majority of discussion among clan members already takes place. Q: How do I become member of the Month? A: MoTM is determined based on how many activity points you've earned. The top members will receive special ranks in the clan chat. Ranked members are not eligible for Member of the Month, so don't feel pressured by our amazingness. Q: How do I earn a higher rank? A: Ranks will be awarded based on the total points you've earned while in Ck. The top non-staff ranks will be reserved for the members with the most activity points at the end of every month. Q: How do I earn a staff position in Ck? A: We look for the most active or helpful members. We're always in need of mentors, so if you think you would be good for the job then speak to Bryce about becoming one. It helps if you're friendly and experienced enough in warring to answer basic questions. Q: What happens if I skip events? A: We have a clan strike system which can be found here: http://ck-rs.com/topic/8687362/1/. We have very few mandatory events, however the strike system is designed to be somewhat lenient. People who regularly skip events will simply be removed from the clan. You can view a full list of mandatory events by clicking that link. Q: I'm a full member but my rank hasn't been updated! How do I change this? A: If any of your ranks have not been changed after a day or two, you can post in the Admin Requests forum. There is a pinned topic for rank changes. Q: What is the Ventrilo password? A: Each user of our Ventrilo must have an account created by an admin before they can connect to the server. If you provide a username/password, they will create the account for you. You can ask anybody ranked as mentor or higher to create an account for you. Our server Hostname/port information can be found on this Ventrilo setup guide: http://ck-rs.com/topic/8491789/. Q: I'm going to be gone for a few days, should I post an inactive topic in Admin requests? A: If you're going to be gone for less than a week then there is really no point in posting an inactive topic. However, you may run into issues with getting the required activity points if you'll be gone for more than a week or two. If you post an inactive topic when leaving, you will not be immediately swept for failing to meet the activity requirement. Instead you will remain on the memberlist but will be moved to the inactive group on site. Feel free to post any other questions if your mentor isn't available and I'll be sure to get them added to the list and answered as quickly as possible ![]() Replies to this topic will be deleted once the question has been added to the list and an inbox response has been sent.
