SKYRIM!!!!!

I didn't get to play much, and sadly I won't have much time to invest in it, but its awesome so far

2 hours in character creation whut whut! (created a character for every race and then decided.... it was so hard...)

Decided to go with the warrior build this time around and modeled a redguard somewhat after the very legit savage beast - Khal Drogo

I just.... there's no words big enough to say how I feel about this game already. It's just so freakin beautiful! and IBeat, I agree, that beginning was AMAZING! I think I freaked out as much as you did :'3
and wow, you and me went different ways. cool xD I actually followed the guy (so forgetful with names LOL) into Riverwood. Went on and did a quest there (won't spoil, but it's actually the very quest we've seen before in the gameplay videos.)
Then I went on to Whiterun!
Spoiler: click to toggle

I didn't get pictures of my CE stuffs, but I did get my character:

Went with a Nord as I said I would xD and modeled after Drake, of course :3 (And look! He even has the scar(s)! 83)
I took maybe an hour with mine x3

As for the collectables, that Alduin statue is gorgeous! Looks so much more amazing in person! and it looks great sitting on my shelf :3 (I find myself glancing at it every once in a while, even while playing the game xD)
Also, I just fully looked at the artbook thismorning! It's beautiful. Such wonderful designs. I'm really happy I got the CE, no regrets whatsoever. It was definitely worth it. <3

I also have to add, this is the first game I believe that I have EVER bought and played on release day. It's a bit sad to say, but also great. I finally know what it's like xD usually I'm so behind on games. This is a great feeling :3
And ESPECIALLY for a game like Skyrim! <333

/ok end of rambling, time to go back to playing!

EDIT: YAY JM YOU GOT IT! (Didn't see your post x3)
I like your Redguard! xD

and I like your Nord, IBeat, by the way :3

Skyrim.
Skyrim.

Skyrim.

Skyrim.

By the Nine, so much has happened in the past week! Certainly too much to say here, I think. I'm actually thinking about starting up a little bit of Skyrim literature called something along the lines of 'Skyrim journal' to detail little parts of her quest. That's what the Elder Scrolls is about, after all: creating your character. A lot of players role-play; sleeping at night, eating reguarly, and just plain cooking up backstories and beefing out the quests with plots.

Today, I was fighting a blood dragon the the far north-western side of Whiterun Hold, and things were going well.
Then a frost troll joined the fray. It ignored me and I could just sit back and watch the two of them go at it -- at one point the troll got glitched and stuck on the dragon's nose. XD
I watched the troll wear the dragon down to within an inch of its life before it itself was slain, and then when the dragon next came at me it went down in three strikes.
A little bit before that I was east of Riften and somehow managed to end up in a fight with three trolls, a bear and two wolves, just below a dragon burial site.
Shenanigans. I didn't really stand too much of a chance, so I was once again grateful that I unlocked Kyne's Breath and made them all non-hostile. I took them on one-by-one except for the two other trolls because I had places to be.

I'm almost at the end of the Companions guild questline. I like how it's going so far and
(end-of-companions spoilers)

Farkas looked farking (pun) adorable sitting there on the ground with his legs crossed, though.
I can't choose between Farkas and Vilkas. I'm pretty damn sure those two are the best marriagable men in the game, and the best ones as my opinion might go.
They're twins. Twins! oAo
You only get one chance at it, I think, so if I can only keep one I have to choose carefully because they'll become house buddy, shopkeeper and companion for the rest of the game.

ANYWAY.
I've got about nine dragons under my belt right now, give or take one or two. Most are just normal (black) dragons, but I've taken out my third blood dragon today. They're considerably more challenging than the usual variety.
Went exploring, found Riften, etc etc.
And I keep randomly running into Daedric Quest-starters. >.>
Can count Clavicus Vile, Hircine and someone else I forgot so far. There's also this weird jester random encounter I could've sworn had something to do with Sheogorath, but nope.

I got attacked by a Dark Brotherhood assassin on my way to Riften, on the same bridge I found Ma'iq the Liar earlier in the day. Had a contract on her for me.
Reading the contract was like Rylakarn and Skyrim were melding for a moment; Ranzer Pri Orbaine had a death warrant out on her head with a bounty.
I'm rattling some cages, apparently. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the Thalmor, considering I've made enemies out of them after freeing a Talos-worshipper from his doom. Hell of a fight, too.
I gave the guy a dagger and some food and he took off without a word of thanks. Can't blame him, really -- I was Shouting and carrying on, and managed to stuff enough food in my mouth to feed all of Whiterun in one go. Was also wearing Krosis, which is probably pretty terrifying to the uninitiated.
I've referred to my cloth-esque map about three times so far. Most recently was thisafternoon because my sister just started and I decided to show how how insanely far she had to walk to get to the Thieves Guild.
She stole a horse. XD

Jm and Drake, you characters look great -- I haven't seen better-looking NPCs yet, but that's the whole point anyway!
Jm, your guy's arms are terrifying. xD

Drake

Sometimes I forget how big that box is..! You sitting there next to it, you look like you could almost fit in there x3 *SHOT*

I'll get back to you on that.

LOTR VIBE REALLY KICKS IN HERE! THIS PLACE IS... <3333

[...]

and before finally leaving Whiterun, a very pretty archer woman comes up to me and asks to join and fight for me. So now she's following me everywhere! Heeeeeeeeee

Whiterun really is so much like Edoras, and I've heard people say that the tree in the courtyard is a reference to the tree in Minas Tirith. I didn't see it at first, but I think I do now.
Whiterun Hold does feel very much like Rohan, like I'm dashing around the place. All it's missing is the Rohirrim and some extra greenery.
Even the Jarl draws parallels with Théoden.
For those curious who lack the game:

And it seems charming potential companions are everywhere in Whiterun, hah. I can pick at least four I've taken a liking to.
I'd like to venture with a friend (it can get kind of isolated out there) but I need someone as sneaky as my girl is. So far, that's not Farkas or Vilkas, but might be Aela, or perhaps someone else I know of who's skipped my mind right now.

Currently I've clocked in roughly 37 hours, 62 miscellaneous quests and just over a dozen proper quests. A heap of other stuff, too.

Anyone else notice how damn Elvish the ambient music is? It's so beautiful. I love exploring just to hear it.
I swear, it could easily be the backing track to Rivendell, Lothlorien or the Aragorn-Arwen flashbacks in the movies.

Okay, so I'm playing Oblivion (about time)

Wow.I've had it for two days and I'm just starting to lose that overwhelming sensation. Both a good thing and a bad thing. I arrived in the imperial city and had no idea what to do, where to go, what to buy, how to get money, etc.

Well I'm doing a little better now. Took me ages to discover quick travel (derp), although I refuse to go to a new location that way. I've begun exploring off the roads, too. It's beautiful. Couple of cities I still haven't been to yet. I'm determined to take my damn time.

Now, even though I've given in to the idea of playing in first-person, I'm finding I like third person, more anyway. In first person, you are so very limited in vision and I end up accidentally killing my dumbass allies who like to run in front of me. I can see them in third person.
Sure, it's ridiculously annoying that you cannot move the camera without turning your character, and although I'll always be irritated by it, I'm getting used to playing that way. The only thing third person is useless for is using a bow. Fortunately, it's nice and easy switching perspectives.

Lol, spoiler time for a fun story.
