The patch is out now. Did you get it? On about 89% of systems it's working flawlessly now, BUT there are a couple of things you have to do after installing it (1.4).
- After installing the patch, safe to a new slot/file and then quit the game. Turn off your system.
- Turn the system back on and start playing, saving in the new file. It may be a bit buggy for the first few hours as the patch takes, but it'll smooth out quickly.
I won't be able to get it myself for some time.
Well crap, I didn't think to do that one thing, turning the system off and back on... :/
I did test 1.4 and it was great the first hour, then ended up shit again. I'll try again tomorrow.. *crosses fingers*

Wow, no one's posted here in a while haha.

So, for those who don't know, (and probably don't care *SHOT*) I've started Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Great game so far. :D and very challenging, as I've been told many times. xD I've died a lot in the beginning... by bosses, mostly. Biggest pain in the ass so far: Bulldrome :| Fucking massive boar that constantly charges you. But I figured out its attack pattern last night and finally beat it. :3 I also beat a Giadrome, another pain in the ass (especially when it shoots that ice at you ffffff.). and I beat a Velocidrome... which was surprisingly easy compared to the others. I think I'm getting the hang of this game already. :3

Right now, I'm working on getting materials for a new weapon. (just need one more giaprey hiiide! no luck so far. >.< )
Also just got my first felyne comrade, taking him out for a quest for the first time. :3

LOL.
---
As for the Velocidrome, it was easiest because they were the first -prey species, and have been around since the first, where they were a lot more irritating. They don't have any saliva weapons like their relatives.
And, because you started MHFU, it made me want to hunt so I went and killed 10 Yian Kut-Kus in a single hunt. :stare:

I encountered a kut-ku last night.....

Alright, I'll be honest.
It took me thirty minutes to kill ten, then the quest automatically ended because ten's apparently the limit on that particular hunt. I could've easily hit twenty. :asleep:
(My record is 19 Basarios in one hunt, using the full 50 minutes.)

Kut-Ku is the big first step into hunterdom, the first wyvern -- the first real boss. It weeds out the first group of players who can't get past the challenges. Tigrex is the second filterer.
It'll be hard for the first >up to a dozen< tries, but eventually you'll get into that rhythm and learn how to hunt it effectively. That, and you'll need its parts for a while.
Also, the ears can be broken.

It's hilarious though, isn't it? Pink, scoop-jaw? xD

^Ahh, I see.
Yeah, they are funny looking things..

Even more funny looking; Congalalas.... and those are the new pain in my ass. Freakin' spent the whole mission chasing that thing, I think I almost killed it too. But I ran out of time. I got pissed and haven't touched the game since. xD (will start up again soon though.)
It was mostly the farting in my face and running away that got to me. :|

Playing Tales of Destiny. It's so good, and so much better than just about any game from that time (early Playstation).

This is Monster Hunter. You will always have an ass-pain. And, depending on how much you move the camera, cramps in your left hand from using 'the claw'.
*the claw is a left-hand stance used by PSP gamers, usually monster hunters, in which the index finger is laid across three of the arrow buttons at once at all times.

Tip: Stay to the flanks. If memory serves, you want to keep to its left side. Congalala is a challenge for many, many players.
It spits out the front and farts out the back -- use the sides as your opening, and break the claws if you can. You use DS -- you have the advantage of speed and Demon Dance. Run in, grab your opening and use it, then when Conga goes to counterattack, run away again.
I sprint everywhere.

Conga is vulnerable to shock traps.

Now, for what I'm playing. Final Fantasy XII, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, and a little bit of Skyrim.

The Sims 3, Skyrim and MHFU.
Sims 3 is awesome. I took some screenshots, but they're on tumblr and I don't feel like linking them.
I may start playing Just Cause 2 soon, as well.
