Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Disgaea 4. iBee, you like RPG's that aren't colourful to the extreme right, or characters that don't have huge eyes? SMT games are generally good for that. Persona 4 seems to be an exception to that though (And P3 pushes the line too) x3 |

^ Mhm. I prefer gritty, realistic/believable art styles over others. Oblivion is super-colourful but that's an exception because that's the Cyrodiil I know. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give the SMT series a try, but I don't have the money to take huge leaps of faith at the moment. That said, though, I do like the bright, outrageous style of anime/manga, but only under certain circumstances (i.e it has to be GORGEOUS and not the rather crap style that most have), and only in still artwork. It can be quite beautiful when done right. Also, I don't know if this is relevant to you guys, but Nendo has a new Tales Of line; Spoiler: click to toggle As for what I'm playing. Surprisingly, Fallout: New Vegas! I was on the wobbly fence about this game for so long, despite dropping so much on that amazing CE. Every time I played it, I just couldn't get into it, and had a grand total of one hour of playtime. It was the blandness of the wasteland (even though it's more colourful than FO3's), the fact that the main weapons are guns, and the lack of a sprint button. But yesterday, bored out of my mind due to a terribly stale gaming library, I gave it another try. I like it. It's kind of a halfway point between Oblivion and Skyrim, mechanics-wise. - Empty containers have the [Empty] tag, which Oblivion lacks and Skyrim has. - The lockpicking system was adapted for Skyrim, so I'm already great at lockpicking. - No sprint button, like Oblivion and FO3. Runs sloooooooooooowly compared to my super-agile Bosmer. - Now my favourite feature. NO LEVEL-SCALING. Yep. I love it! I'm playing on Hardcore mode, which is awesome and a massive thing missing from Skyrim. This means I have to eat, drink and rest reguarly, as well as managing my radiation levels, the health of each limb, and health. I've been crippled quite a bit since I started (I've only played about 3 or 4 hours). The fact that there isn't any level scaling makes gameplay cautious and careful. I'm only level 3 and the giant radscorpions beat me up every time. I avoid them at first priority, even though their smaller cousins yield poison glands worth 35 caps -- a lot of money for me at this stage, as doctor's bags are 80c, treatment 50, and bullets 1c each or more. Most of my play so far has been put into gathering supplies and finding ways to make that money. I haven't done any quests yet, though, just the starting tutorial. The last time I was on, I ended play after a landmark encounter for me; I was running through the wilderness, trying to head east as I'd heard there was a good haul of tech and supplies near the river. It was a fairly narrow canyon, and as I rounded the corner... Deathclaw! OH CRAP a Deathclaw. OH CRAP MY LEGS ARE BOTH CRIPPLED I CAN'T RUN FAST. Cue about twenty seconds of running while uttering "OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT" not knowing if it was behind me. Killed me in one swipe. It was fantastic! :D I'm learning my strengths and limits! But. The game world is TINY, which is horribly annoying. And the world is kind of boring. |

^Silent Hill! <3 I really only played the first two, but they were great. I was thinking about getting the first off of PSN too sometime. Haven't played it in... what, nearly a decade? Still playing Dragon's Dogma, and of course, LotRO. and I suddenly got this urge recently to replay RDR, so I've been on that a lot too. |

Currently playing Darksiders. I tried Darksiders 2 at a con the other day and it reminded me of God of War a lot. I'm okay with that. Also, EA Sports Active 2. I WILL get the platinum one day. Yes. |

I heard that Darksiders was just Zelda for XBOX and PS3. Which isn't a bad thing (actually, it kind of intrigues me... In fact, I'd probably have picked it up a while ago if I'd had known it was on PS3 sooner.) Uh, as for what I'm playing... I have no clue, last night I was playing Golden Sun and Dissidia, but Dissidia is only fun on the Special day, and Golden Sun froze on me, making me lose a bunch of progress, so fuck that for a while. Might boot up FFIX tonight, we'll see. |

I can't see any Zelda in it so far, but we'll see. :s FF9 is a good one to get finished. |

On the web there's a lot comparing the two, one guy even wrote a full length thing on it. (Granted he was acting all pissy about it... I only read the first few lines too x3) Yeah, I'm on the second disc as it is, so I might end up doing so. |

^Darksiders... a Zelda for Xbox and PS3? LOLWHAT. o_O I have played Darksiders, though I haven't gotten all that far. But nothing I recall screamed "Zeda" in the slightest. o.O Also, I found the game incredibly boring from what I played, not my type of game. it could've just been my mood though, but I doubt it. I have no desire to even pick it up right now lol. I'm sure I'll give it another chance someday, though. (when I'm bored enough.) |

Seems bizarre to me as well. Maybe you confused it with another game you read about, Pads. :P Yeah it's too damn button-mashy. I liked it at first, but I got bored of it already. |
