I dunno, I looked it up thinking maybe I was wrong, but apparently no. Maybe it's only later in the game, but I dunno, I haven,t played it. |

Hm, I play a little more of Darksiders now. It has some pretty nice environmental design later. That really surprised me since the first bit was really boring to look at. Starting to get into it now. I also started Deus Ex 3. Also seems good (probably gonna be better than Darksiders). Do love me some stealth. |

I just randomly picked up Golden Sun and played it to the end. It was a pretty good game, going to play the second one shortly. |

Last fortnight I played Gravity Rush for about fifteen minutes. The game itself was pretty fantastic -- I was very impressed -- and somehow, it actually reminded me of FFXIII. I'm not sure how, but I developed a very strong urge to play that game after my time with Gravity Rush. I think it might've been the protagonist's (gorgeous) animations. It was the demo, unfortunately, so I only got to play some of the opening, and up until a little way after the first boss. The enemies kind of remind me of KH's Heartless. The console was bolted onto a display to discourage theft, so it was kind of weird to hold and thus took a little while to get used to the controls, but once I did, the gravity-bending mechanism was flawless. It worked so smoothly and I particuarly LOVE how gravity still affects her hair and clothing when she's sideways or upside-down. I was very impressed. What I wasn't impressed with was the Vita. I was immediately surprised by the size; I thought it was larger. I also thought the buttons were larger. All the buttons were tiny. Only about a third of the size of the PSP's ones. Even the much-toted dual analogue sticks are only about half the size. They're tiny and feel cheap, and the buttons are uncomfortably small and fiddly -- and this coming from someone with small hands! I'm not going to criticize the overall feel of the console because of the aformentioned immobilization, which made it difficult to hold (and it was apparently mounted at an angle for six year olds, which didn't help... what dumbass gives a kid a thing like a Vita?! It's not a toy!), but I did find the interface lackluster. And by that, I mean the interface was almost identical to the one on my brother's Android smartphone. It has a couple of dots on the side of the screen that tell you which page of the menu you're on, and annoyingly, you have to swipe to navigate. I do not approve of the bubble-cluster menu, either. So, basically, Gravity Rush is awesome, but it's on a shit console. If it was a PS3 game, I'd buy it in half a heartbeat; it's a huge shame it is not, because it really did seem enjoyable in the short time I had with it, in that crowded and noisy electronics store. Otherwise, I'm playing Assassin's Creed II right now (and a bit of Dragon Age: Origins). I've halted my progress in New Vegas for now, because I'm level 24 (six levels to the cap) and there's only so much Bethesda game you can play before things start to stagnate. So to fix the stagnation, I went and climbed around Italy and watched Ezio's strut. Now I'm running around doing the missions I missed. |

I played the demo too, iBee, and I have to agree with what you said, it was fun but it's hard with the small buttons, what I had a problem with for the Vita was the bumpy feeling on the back, that was just too strange for me, lol. |

^ Hah, I agree. xD The rear touch pad just seems too out of place on the Vita; it feels almost gimmicky. Again, though: GRAVITY RUSH. <3 |

Lord of the Rings Online...again. Got back into it. Waiting for y'all to join Drake and I. Still as good as ever. Though I do now feel like an Elf. I remember the elder days, back before the great invisible barrier of Bree barred entrance to the rooftop terraces forever. The world was more joyous then... I also decided to get DC Online Universe because I couldn't resist when I found out it went free to play. Holy shit, it's worth trying people. LotRO is massively better, but there's still something nice about an MMO with a fast-paced battle system and the ability to fly around through Metropolis and scale the buildings of Gotham. |

I feel the exact same way. ;~; Still it is such a wonderful game. I just can't seem to stop, it's been taking mostly all of my attention lately. and I'm really excited for you guys to join me and Paw, I'm sure you're going to love it. <3 DCOU sounds great. I mentioned before I have no intention of picking up another MMO, but it may depend on LotRO. when the time comes I don't have much to do on there and I lose interest for a long while, then I may start another. but with the others starting, Rohan about to come out, all the other characters I plan to start, and my constant LotR mood on top of that, that won't be happening ANYTIME soon. x3 (unless of course all of you start playing DCOU or another MMO, then it may be harder to resist...) |

Don't get too eager. I'm not sure about everyone else that's yet to join in, but I certainly WILL NOT be playing as much as you guys seem to think I will. First up, I have limited computer time. Because my family isn't rolling in money, we share one computer. With my new internet connection, I'm not going to just hog the computer all day -- it's grossly unfair. This means I have to prioritize. LotRO will always lose in the priority points contest. I'm not going to waste time on an MMO (I once, not long ago, maintained my viewpoint that MMOs are massive wastes of time) when I could actually be getting things done and doing stuff that's ten times more fun, like interacting on dA, here, the Beth forums, and posting in the RP(s). Also, things that will earn me a modest income from hobbies. Second, I don't care how good it is, LotRO will almost never win when it comes to deciding what I'm going to play for a few hours. I'm either on the computer, OR on the PS3/PSP. I don't do both at once, and I consider all my gaming to be done on a console, instead of wasting valuable computer time on a game. If I want to play a game, I get off the computer so someone else can do their computer errands. And seeing as it appears MMOs can't be played with controller periphrials, that's a blow too. I type fast but I don't use keyboard shortcuts OR a gaming-type control set. When I play Sims 3, I mouse around everywhere and use the arrow keys. The only other keys are 1, 2, 3 and 4 for time control. Most MMOs just aren't appealing to me -- I actually have an aversion to them almost as strong as my utter hate for first-person shooters. I'm usually solitary; I don't like having other players fucking up my plans. Which my online experience tells me, they usually do. The moments of pure cooperation, the ones where everyone is right on the ball, are rare. Lord of the Rings Online has to REALLY, REALLY prove itself as a fun RPG before I'll commit to it. I have to find a way to overlook it's (probably many) shortcomings, such as a battle system that isn't active. Anyway, this has turned into a bit of a rant. Oops. xD Tl;dr: Don't think I'll be playing LotRO often. 'Cause I won't. It looks like if I even decide to download it (15 gigs are you fucking kidding me, that's half my monthly allowance and 10% of our total monthly internet!), I'll be playing once a week, maybe twice, at most. Hell, I fully expect that after playing the first time (probably half an hour, maybe an hour), I'll put it down and not play again for another month. Also, I'll be doing a lot of standing around doing nothing. Chances are I'll be surfing the net in general, despite my usual disgust of playing a game while having internet facilities open. Everything on my end about LotRO so far is purely provisional. Elsewhere, I'm about to enter The Strip in Fallout: New Vegas. Can't continue the new Oblivion, Skyrim, and Dragon Age games I just started because I'm waiting to get a recording device. Same reason I'm holding off restarting AC, AC2 and Brotherhood. Monster Hunter? Pissing me the hell off. As usual. <3 Edited by Seffoo, 16 Aug 2012, 07:30 AM.

If LotRO's such a bother, don't do it. Somehow we'll survive. But I think it's at least worth a gander. You can do a lot of exploring in a short amount of time. Now, just because we have a computer and some laptops in the house, we are VERY far from "rolling in money." Actually, they are from a period of time when we had a bit more money, but right now times are tough. I can't help but feel that and a very similar statement you made the other day are somewhat of a jab because you're feeling frustrated financially and feel the need to passive aggressively let us know that we take our RELATIVE wealth for granted, which we do not. Maybe I'm taking it more personally than was intended, but this is a rewrite of a very angry reply from when I read this this morning. Edited by Paw, 16 Aug 2012, 12:55 PM.
